Abstract
Kacang tunggak ( Vigna unguiculata ) termasuk dalam keluarga Leguminosae. Upaya peningkatan produksi kacang tunggak sering mengalami hambatan. Salah satu kendala adalah serangan Cowpea Mild Mottle Virus (CMMV). Infeksi CMMV di lapangan dari tanaman sakit ke tanaman lainnya terjadi dengan bantuan serangga vektor Bemisia tabaci. Jamur entomopatogen Beauveria bassiana sebagai agens hayati berpotensi tinggi, ramah lingkungan, dan dapat diperbanyak secara massal. Selama ini masih sedikit penelitian tentang kerapatan konidia B. bassiana yang efektif untuk mengendaliakan Bemisia tabaci sebagai vektor virus. Oleh karena itu dilakukan suatu penelitian untuk mengkaji kerapatan konidia B. bassiana yang efektif untuk mengendalikan B. tabaci sebagi vektor CMMV. Penelitian dilaksanakan di rumah kaca dan Laboratorium Mikologi Balai Penelitian Tanaman kacang-kacangan dan umbi-umbian (BALITKABI) Malang, kegiatan penelitian dimulai dari bulan Agustus sampai Desember 2010 meliputi perbanyakan jamur B. bassiana dan perbanyakan B. tabaci serta untuk mengetahui kerapatan konidia B. bassiana yang efektif untuk mengendalikan B. tabaci sebagai vektor CMMV. Penelitian ini terdapat 4 perlakuan yaitu kerapatan konidia B. bassiana 10 5 /ml, 10 6 /ml, 10 7 /ml, 10 8 /ml dan 0. Pengamatan dilakukan terhadap masa inkubasi CMMV, mortalitas B. tabaci dan intensitas serangan CMMV. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa jamur B. bassiana mampu mengendalikan B. tabaci sebagai vektor CMMV didalam rumah kaca pada tanaman kacang tunggak. Kerapatan konidia B. bassiana yang efektif untuk pengendalian B. tabaci yakni pada kerapatan konidia 10 8 /ml dengan mortalitas 100%. Masa inkubasi CMMV terlihat pada perlakuan 0 dan pada kerapatan 10 5 /ml pada hari ke 4 setelah aplikasi dan terdapat hubungan antara kerapatan konidia B. bassiana dengan intensitas serangan CMMV, yakni semakin tinggi kerapatan konidia yang diaplikasikan pada B. tabaci maka intensitas serangan CMMV semakin rendah.
English Abstract
Cowpea ( Vigna unguiculata ) was included in the family of Leguminosae. The one of that barrier is the attack of faint mottle virus CMMV ( Cowpea Mild Mottle Virus ). The infection of CMMV in the field from the one sick plant to other plants were occurred by the support of vector insect Bemisia tabaci. Therefore, that were need to looked for the another ways of controlling which has environment friendly by utilize the role of biological agents. The biological agents of entomopathogenic fungi Beauveria bassiana was high potential, environmentally friendly, and can be mass produced. At this time, there are little research about the density of conidia B. bassiana which effective to controled B. tabaci as a virus vector. Therefore was done the research to study the density of conidia B. bassiana which effective to controled B. tabaci as a CMMV vector. The results of this research was hoped can give information about the density of conidia which effective as the basic orientation to control of B. tabaci and the advantages as biological agents. The research was conducted in greenhouses and mycological Laboratory of Crops Research nuts and tubers (Balitkabi) in Malang East Java, from August until December 2010 the augmentation of B. bassiana and B. tabaci was done to known the density of conidia B. bassiana which effective to control B. tabaci as a CMMV vector. The observations was done to the density of conidia B. bassiana which include, the incubation period of CMMV, the mortality of B. tabaci and the intensity of CMMV attacks. The result showing that the entomopathigenic fungi of B. bassiana afford to controlled B. tabacci as a CMMV vector in green house on cowpea plant. The density of conidia which was effective to controlled B. tabaci is on the density of conidia 10 8 /ml with 100% mortality. The incubation period of CMMV visible at the 0 treatment and the density of 10 5 /ml on day 4 after application and there were a relationship between the density of conidia B. bassiana and the intensity of attacks CMMV is the higher density of conidia which was applied to B. tabaci accordingly the lower intensity of CMMV attacks .
