Nugroho, Hendra Setyo (2018) Aplikasi Liposuction Pada Kucing Betina (Felis Catus) Steril Overweight Terhadap Kadar Hdl Dan Ldl Sebelum Dan Sesudah Perlakuan. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Most of people in Indonesia like cats as their pets. The huge population of cats in Indonesia can cause reproduction disease. To prevent the cats from reproduction disease is by strerilization. After the strerilization, the cats will get an overweight. Unfortunately, the overweight will cause metabolic disease. Looking up the impacts of sterilization, this reserach used Liposuction as a new innovation for the cats’ health. The aim of this reserach was to identify the influence of the application of Liposuction on overweight-sterile female cats (Felis catus) towards the levels of HDL and LDL. The research was done on August to September 2017 in veterinary clinic, ADD laboratory of Veterinary Medicine Faculty of Brawijaya University and Pathology laboratory of Saiful Anwar Hospital in Malang City. The materials used in this research were five female cats (Felis catus) without sterile and five overweigh-sterile female cats (Felis catus). The feed used was Meo Persian production PT. Perfect Companion Group Thailand. The cats were maintained in the invidual cage. The parameter which was observed in this research was the levels of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL). The serum was measure using Hitachi Cobas 6000 Spectrofotometers. The data were analyzed used Independent T-test with 95% confidence levels. The result of this research showed that the control cats group had levels of HDL and LDL 89.7±16.03 and 12.2±4.51%. There was no significant difference of levels of HDL and LDL between treatment and control group, p<0.05 in observation H-1, H+4. H+10 and H+17. The conclusion of this research was the levels of HDL and LDL on overweight-sterile female cats (Felis catus) could approach the levels of HDL and LDL from control group after the application of Liposuction.
