Abstract
Penelitian evaluasi daya hasil dan kadar pati klon-klon ubijalar ( Ipomoea batatas. L) dilaksanakan di Tumpang, Malang bulan Agustus 2007 sampai Februari 2008. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 20 klon/varietas yang diulang tiga kali. Sukuh digunakan sebagai varietas pembanding untuk kadar pati tinggi. Klon/varietas yang diuji berasal dari Balai Penelitian Tanaman Kacang-kacangan dan Umbi-umbian (Balitkabi) Malang. Ukuran petak 2m x 5m dengan jarak tanam 100 cm x 25 cm. Pupuk diberikan dengan dosis 105 kg Urea + 105 kg SP36 + 105 kg KCl/ha. Panen dilakukan setelah tanaman berumur 5 bulan. Pengamatan kadar bahan kering umbi dan berangkasan dilaksanakan di laboratorium Balitkabi sedangkan pengamatan kadar pati dilakukan di laboratorium Teknologi Hasil Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang menggunakan metode Direct Acid Hidrolysis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil umbi klon-klon ubijalar yang diuji berkisar 23,8–50,5 ton/ha dengan rata-rata hasil umbi 39,4 ton/ha. Klon MSU 04007-31 memiliki hasil umbi tertinggi (50,5 ton/ha) diikuti oleh klon RIS 04005-07 dan MSU 04007-32 dengan rata-rata hasil umbi 48,57 dan 46,67 ton/ha. Kadar pati bervariasi dari 14,83% sampai 21,18%. Sukuh memberikan kadar pati tertinggi (21,18%) diikuti oleh klon MSU 04001-03 dan MSU 04003-23 masing-masingnya dengan kadar pati 19,85% dan 19,79%. Klon yang memberikan total produksi pati tinggi yaitu MSU 04002-12, MSU04003-23 dan MSU 01012-17 masing-masingnya dengan total produksi pati 8,62 ; 8,31 dan 8,29 ton/ha. Total produksi pati dari ketiga klon ini masing-masingnya 43,4% ; 38,3% dan 37,3% lebih tinggi dari total produksi pati varietas Sukuh.
English Abstract
Selection of Fresh Root Yield and Starch Content of Sweetpotato ( Ipomoea batatas L) Clones at Wetland Paddy. Research on selection of root yield and starch content of several sweetpotato clones was conducted in Tumpang, Malang, East Java province from August 2007 to February 2008. Randomized complete block design was used in this experiment using 20 clones/varieties with three replications in which Sukuh as check variety. Plot size was 2m x 5m with plant spacing 100 cm x 25 cm. Fertilizers used was 105 kg Urea, 105 kg SP 36 and 105 kg KCl per hectare. One third of Urea and KCl and all dosages of SP 36 were applied as basal fertilizers and the rest of the fertilizers were applied at one month after planting. The plants were harvested 5 months after planting. Analysis of starch content using direct acid analysis was conducted at University Muhammadiyah Malang while root and vines dry matter evaluation was done at Indonesian Legume and Tuber Crops Research Institute (ILETRI) in Kendal Payak Malang. Result of this experiment indicated that fresh root yield of the clones tested was between 23.8-50.5 ton/ha with average root yield 39.4 ton/ha. The highest root yield was achieved by clone MSU 04007-31 with 50.5 ton/ha followed by MSU 04005-07 and MSU 04007-32 with root yield average 48.57 and 46.67 ton/ha, respectively. Starch content of tested clones varied between 14.83% to 21.18%. The highest starch content was achieved by Sukuh with 21.18% followed by MSU 04001-03 and MSU 04003-23 with starch content 19.85% and 19.79%. High total starch production were achieved by MSU 04002-12, MSU 04003-23 and MSU 01012-17 with total starch production 8.62; 8.31 and 8.29 ton/ha. Total starch production of these three clones were 43.4%; 38,3% and 37.3% higher than total starch production of Sukuh variety.
