English Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know how many varieties of productivity, how long the endurance of Sweet Potato to borer Cylas sp. and the different of endurance level after two months saving. This research has been done in April to September 2005 in the Experimental Garden of Farming Faculty at Desa Jatikerto, Kecamatan Kromengan, Kabupaten Malang. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The steps of data collection are seedling, preparing for the land, planting, maintenanc of plants, harvesting and time after harvest. The researchs have done twice: first, when it a harvested and second, after two months saving. The harvest research are: the corm long (cm), the corm diameter , the corm quantity of each plant, the corm heavy of each plant (gram) and the attack level of borer Cylas sp. The research after two months saving is just the attack level of borer Cylas sp. The data are analyzed by using the formula of attack level, variety and endurance criteria according to Xia et.al. The experimental results show that there are differences of productivity varieties (corm long, corm diameter, corm quantity and corm heavy of each plant) that are: high (mixture 73 x BA, 73 x BIS, BIS x 73, JP- 23 x BIS, BA x D-67, D- 67 X BA, D-67 x BIS, BOKO x BIS, BIS x BOKO and BA x BOKO), midle (mixture BA x 73), and low (mixture JP-33 x BIS, BIS x JP- 33, and BOKO x BA). The variety of attack level before saving are : low (BA x 73, 73 x BIS, JP- 33 x BIS, BIS x JP-33, JP-23 x BIS, BA x D-67, BOKO x BIS, BIS x BOKO, BA x BOKO), midle (mixture 73 x BA, BIS x 73, D-67 x BA dan D-67 x BIS) and high (mixture BOKO x BA). Whereas the variety of attack level after saving are : high (mixture BA x 73, 73 x BIS, JP-33 x BIS, BIS x JP-33, JP-23 x BIS, BA x D-67, D-67 x BA, D- 67 x BIS, BOKO x BA, BIS x BOKO, and BA x BOKO) midle (mixture 73 x BA, BIS x 73), low (mixture BOKO x BIS). The result after saving is there are no endure corm categorie. All of them are categorized in suspectible and very suspectible.
