Abstract
Kolibasilosis adalah penyakit infeksius pada unggas yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Escherichia coli sebagai agen primer ataupun sekunder. Penggunaan antibiotik menjadi salah satu cara untuk menangani infeksi pada ayam, namun penggunaannya kini mulai dikurangi karena menimbulkan dampak bagi konsumen daging ayam berupa residu obat pada daging. Daun binahong memiliki kandungan saponin, flavonoid, dan alkaloid yang berfungsi mengahambat pertumbuhan bakteri E.coli dan antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antimikroba pemberian ekstrak daun binahong (Anredera Cordifolia (Ten.)Steenis) pada ayam broiler (Gallus domesticus) yang di infeksi Escherichia coli terhadap perhitungan jumlah bakteri dan histopatologi Jejunum. Penelitian ini menggunakan lima kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok kontrol kolibasilosis, kelompok terapi ekstrak daun binahong dosis 800 mg/kg BB, 1000 mg/kg BB, dan 1200 mg/kg BB. Penghitungan jumlah bakteri dianalisis dengan ANOVA dan histopatologi jejunum secara deskriptif dengan mikroskop Olympus BX51. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ekstrak daun binahong dosis 800 mg/kg BB, 1000 mg/kg BB, dan 1200 mg/kg BB secara signifikan (p<0,05) menurunkan jumlah bakteri E.coli sebesar 6,52 %, 22,35 %, dan 36,79% serta memperbaiki histopatologi jejunum pada ayam broiler. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini dosis ekstrak daun binahong dosis 1200 mg/kg BB merupakan dosis efektif yang dapat menurunkan jumlah bakteri dan memperbaiki histopatologi jejunum.
English Abstract
Colibacillosis is an infection disease on poultry which caused by Eschericia coli bacteria as primary and secondary agent. Antibiotic uses as on of the infection treatment on chicken, however nowadays this antibiotic uses as treatmen is decrease because it can gives residual antibiotic effect for poultry consument. Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis leaf containing of saponin, flavonoid, and alkaloid which has function to block the growth of E.coli and as antiinflammation. This research aimed to know the antimicrobial effect of Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis leaf extract on broiler chicken (Gallus domesticus) infected by E.coli based on bactery colony counter and jejunum histopathology. Five groups of treatment used in this research were negative control group, colibacillosis group, three groups treated with Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis leaf extract.Bactery colony counter was analyzed by ANOVA and jejunum histopathology analyzed descriptively with Olympus BX51 microscope.The results showed that 800 mg/kg BW, 1000 mg/kg BW, and 1200 mg/kg BW dose of Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis leaf extract could decrease E.coli amount significantly (p<0,05) until 6,52 %, 22,35 %, and 36,79% also repair jejunum epithelial histopathology in broiler chicken. The conclusion of this research was Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenisleaf extract could reduce the amount of E.coli and repaired the histopathology jejunum.
