Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi antimikroba ekstrak n_Heksana kulit biji jambu mete terhadap bakteri Salmonella enteritidis secara in vitro. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental dengan metode post test control design only yang dilakukan secara in vitro menngunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dan diuji secara statistik menggunakan one way ANOVA, uji Tukey HSD, serta uji korelasi-regresi dengan (α:0.05). Uji antimikroba dilakukan dengan metode Tube dilution test untuk mengamati Kadar Hambat Minimal (KHM) dan Kadar Bunuh Minimal (KBM) dengan kelompok perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak 25%,30%,35%,40%,45%, dan 50%. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit biji jambu mete dengan pelarut n_Heksana memiliki potensi antimikroba dengan nilai KBM pada konsentrasi 45%, sedangkan nilai KHM dalam penelitian ini belum dapat ditentukan karena karena warna dari ekstrak yang keruh menyamarkan hasil pengamatan. Dari hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak pericarp Jambu mete dengan pelarut n-Heksana memiliki potensi antimikroba terhadap Salmonella enteritidis SP-1-PKH secara in vitro

English Abstract

This study aims to determine the antimicrobial potency of cashew nut shell of n- Hexane extract against Salmonella enteritidis in vitro. This study is an experimental study in the form of post-test only control group design with the tube dilution method. This study is an experimental research method post test control design is done only in vitro alkaline completely randomized design (CRD) and statistically tested using one-way ANOVA, Tukey HSD test, correlation and regression test (α: 0.05). Antimicrobial test done by Tube dilution test methods for observing Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimal Bacteriacidal Concentration (MBC) with extract concentration treatment group of 25%, 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, and 50%. Results showed that the extract of cashew nut shell by n_Hexane solvent antimicrobial potential value of MBC at a concentration of 45%, while the MIC values in this study could not be determined because of the color extracts disguise murky observations. From the results can be concluded that the pericarp cashew extract with n-Hexane solvent has antimicrobial potency against Salmonella enteritidis SP-1-PKH in vitro
