Abstract

Infeksi Escherichia coli (E.coli) galur patogen menyebabkan berbagai jenis penyakit. Kelor mengandung senyawa yang memiliki efek antimikroba yang dapat digunakan untuk alternatif pengobatan penyakit infeksi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek antimikroba ekstrak n-Heksana daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) secara in vitro sehingga dapat mengetahui Konsentrasi Hambat Minimal (KHM) dan Konsentrasi Bunuh Minimal (KBM). Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental-Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan post test only control group design menggunakan uji dilusi tabung dengan 4 kali pengulangan. Konsentrasi ekstrak n-Heksana daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, dan 35%. Analisis data secara statistika menggunakan Kruskal-Wallis dilanjutkan uji Mann-Whitney, dan uji korelasi Spearman dengan α=5%. Hasil penelitian ini adalah uji efek antimikroba ekstrak n-Heksana daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri E.coli secara in vitro menunjukkan KHM belum dapat teramati dan KBM pada konsentrasi 35%, ditunjukkan dengan menurunnya jumlah koloni bakteri E.coli seiring dengan peningkatan konsentrasi ekstrak n-Heksana daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.). Kesimpulan ekstrak n-Heksana daun kelor (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) memiliki efek antimikroba terhadap E.coli secara in vitro.

English Abstract

Infection of Escherichia coli (E.coli) on strain of the pathogen causing various diseases. Kelor contains compounds that have antimicrobial effects that can be used for alternative treatment of infectious diseases. The purpose of this study is to know the antimicrobial effect of n-Hexane extract of Kelor leaves (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) using in vitro test so as to know the Minimal Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimal Bactericidal Concentration (MBC). This research is an experimental-Completely Randomized Design (CRD), by a post-test only control group design using tube dilution test with 4 repetitions. The concentration of n-Hexane extract of Kelor leaves (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, and 35%. Statistic analysis using the Kruskal-Wallis test followed by Mann-Whitney test, and Spearman correlation test with α = 5%. The result of this study showed that the antimicrobial effect of n-Hexane extract of Kelor leaves (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) on the growth of E. coli cells using in vitro test with MIC can not be observed and MBC at a concentration of 35%, was indicated by the decreasing number of E. coli colonies as with increasing concentration of n-Hexane extract of Kelor leaves (Moringa oleifera Lamk.). In conclusion, n-Hexane extract of Kelor leaves (Moringa oleifera Lamk.) have antimicrobial effects against E. coli using in vitro test.
