Abstract
Salah satu pelayanan kesehatan dalam bidang kedokteran gigi adalah tindakan pencabutan gigi menimbulkan trauma yang dapat mengakibatkan munculnya luka. Proses penyembuhan luka yang cukup lama sering menimbulkan berbagai keluhan dan ketidaknyamanan. Penggunaan lendir bekicot (Achatina fulica) memiliki kandungan glikosaminoglikan yang terdiri dari heparin dan heparin sulfat yang membantu menginduksi growth factor yang berperan dalam pertambahan jumlah sel fibroblast. Penelitian ini diawali dengan pemilihan sample menggunakan teknik Simple Random Sampling yang dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok, yaitu kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan yang kemudian dibagi lagi menjadi hari ke-3, ke-5, dan ke-7 menurut hari perlakuan. Variabel yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah jumlah sel fibroblast pada proses penyembuhan luka pasca pencabutan gigi pada tikus wistar jantan (Rattus norvegicus) diukur dari sediaan HPA dengan pengecatan HE. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan jumlah sel fibroblast yang bermakna pada kelompok perlakuan jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah lendir bekicot (Achatina fulica) dapat meningkatkan jumlah sel fibroblast pada proses penyembuhan luka soket pasca pencabutan gigi insisivus tikus wistar (Rattus norvegicus).
English Abstract
One of medical services on dentistry is the extraction of tooth, which is an act of taking the tooth out of the supporting tissues which cause a trauma that can procure wound. The healing process of the wound takes quite a long time which give rise to many complaints and uncomfortness.The use of snail mucus (Achatina fulica) can accelerate healing process because snail mucus (Achatina fulica) has glycosaminoglycans which consist of heparin and heparan sulfate that inducts growth factor who has a big role on fibroblast cells increasement. This experiment starts by choosing samples using Simple Random Sampling technique, which will be divided into two groups: control group and treated group, which then divided according to the decaputation of the mandible day: day-3, day-5, day-7. The variable studied on this experiment is fibroblast cells count in healing process after tooth extraction on a white mouse (Rattus norvegicus) measured from an HPA slide with HE colorization. The results showed that there is a significant increase of fibroblast cells count on the treted group compared to the control group. The conclusion of this experiment is snail mucus (Achatina fulica) can increase the amount of fibroblast cells on wound healing process of the tooth socket after incisivus tooth extraction of a white mouse (Rattus novergicus).
