Abstract
Pembesaran gingiva merupakan hiperplasia sel epitel. Perawatannya adalah dengan prosedur gingivektomi, kemudian luka ditutup dengan menggunakan periodontal pack. Periodontal pack tidak mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang berpotensi sebagai imunostimulator terhadap aktivasi limfosit yang mengaktivasi makrofag untuk mempercepat penyembuhan luka. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh gel ekstrak etanol daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) terhadap jumlah limfosit pada luka pasca gingivektomi tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus). Metode pada penelitian ini adalah eksprimental murni menggunakan 24 tikus yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok dengan pengamatan sebanyak 3 time series yaitu hari pertama, hari ketiga, dan hari ketujuh. Kelompok kontrol dilakukan prosedur gingivektomi namun tidak diaplikasikan gel ekstrak etanol daun sukun. Kelompok perlakuan dilakukan prosedur gingivektomi kemudian diaplikasikan gel ekstrak etanol daun sukun konsentrasi 20%. Preparat dibuat dengan pewarnaan Hematoksilin-eosin. Jumlah limfosit dihitung dalam 5 lapangan pandang dengan perbesaran mikroskop 400x. Rata – rata jumlah limfosit paling tinggi pada hari ketiga lalu menurun pada hari ketujuh. Hasil uji One-Way Anova menunjukkan perbedaan bermakna pada rata – rata jumlah limfosit antar kelompok (p = 0,000). Hasil uji Post-Hoc menunjukkan signifikansi antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan hari ketiga dan ketujuh (p = 0,000) dimana kelompok perlakuan lebih sedikit dari kelompok kontrol. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh pemberian gel ekstrak etanol daun sukun (Artocarpus altilis) dengan konsentrasi 20% terhadap penurunan jumlah limfosit pada luka pasca gingivektomi tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus).
English Abstract
Gingival enlargement is an epithelial cell hyperplasia. Treatment is by gingivectomy procedure, then the wound is closed using a periodontal pack. Periodontal pack does not accelerate wound healing. Leaves of breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) contains flavonoids potential as immunostimulatory against lymphocyte activation which activates macrophages to accelerate wound healing. This study was conducted to determine the effect of gel extract of leaves of breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) to the number of lymphocytes in the wound after gingivectomy rat (Rattus norvegicus). The method in this research is purely eksprimental using 24 rats were divided into 6 groups with 3 total observation time series that first day, the third day and the seventh day. The control group performed gingivectomy procedures but does not apply gel breadfruit leaf extract. The treatment group performed gingivectomy procedure is then applied gel breadfruit leaf extract concentration of 20%. Preparations made by hematoxylin-eosin staining. Total lymphocyte count in the fifth field of view with a magnification of 400x microscope. Average - the highest average number of lymphocytes on the third day and then declined on the seventh day. Results One-Way ANOVA test showed significant differences in the average - average number of lymphocytes among the groups (p = 0.000). Post-Hoc test results indicate significance between the control group and the third and seventh day of treatment (p = 0.000) where fewer treatment group than the control group. It is concluded that there is the effect of breadfruit leaf extract gel (Artocarpus altilis) with a concentration of 20% against a decrease in the number of lymphocytes in the wound after gingivectomy rat (Rattus norvegicus).
