Abstract
Radiografi periapikal adalah radiografi intraoral yang memberikan gambaran seluruh gigi dan sekitarnya. Radiografi periapikal digunakan untuk menilai kesehatan gigi, tulang, dan jaringan sekitarnya. Prosesing film awalnya dilakukan secara manual yang disebut juga wet processing, yang dilakukan di dalam kamar gelap. Terdapat alternatif dalam prosesing film yaitu film instan yang disebut dengan self-developing film. Dalam prosesing self-developing film tidak membutuhkan kamar gelap. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan hasil pengukuran jaringan periodontal pada gambar radiografi periapikal antara prosesing film secara manual dengan self-developing film. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan observasional analitik dengan melakukan pengukuran lebar periodontal space dan jarak antara tulang crestal margin dengan cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) pada hasil radiografi periapical gigi pasca perawatan saluran akar, yang di foto sebanyak dua kali menggunakan manual film dan self-developing film. Hasil penelitian yang didapatkan melalui uji Wilcoxon, menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada hasil pengukuran lebar periodontal space pada bagian mesial atas, distal atas, mesial bawah dan pada hasil pengukuran jarak antara tulang crestal margin dengan cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) pada bagian mesial dan distal. Sedangkan, pada hasil pengukuran periodontal space bagian mesial tengah, distal tengah dan distal bawah didapatkan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil pengukuran jaringan periodontal pada gambar radiografi periapikal antara prosesing film secara manual dengan self-developing film.
English Abstract
The periapical radiograph pictures the entire tooth and surrounding area. Periapical radiographs are used to assess the health of the teeth, bone, and surrounding tissues. In the early days of radiography, film processing was done manually also called 2 wet processing, it is carried out in a darkroom. There are an alternatives to manual processing which is instant film called self-developing films. Self-developing films does not carried out in darkroom. This study aimed to analyze the differences of periapical radiographic image between manually processing films with self-developing films in measurement of periodontal tissue. This study applying an observational analytic approach by measuring the periodontal space width and the distance between the crestal bone margin to the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) on periapical radiographs of the teeth post root canal treatment, which was exposed twice using manual film and self-developing film. The results came up from Wilcoxon test, showed there were significant differences in measurements results of the periodontal space width on the upper mesial, upper distal, bottom mesial and on measurements results of the distance between the crestal bone margin to the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) on the mesial and distal. While at measurements results of periodontal space width on the middle mesial, middle distal and bottom distal, found no significant difference. Based on the research, it can be concluded that there are differences of periapical radiographic image between manually processing films with self-developing films in measurement of periodontal tissue.
