Abstract
Ulkus traumatik adalah ulkus yang sering terjadi pada rongga mulut yang dapat disebabkan oleh trauma mekanik, suhu, elektrik, maupun kimiawi dan dapat terjadi di permukaan kulit atau mukosa. Salah satu faktor yang berperan penting pada penyembuhan luka adalah makrofag. Dari hasil analisis fitokimia biji pepaya (Carica papaya L.) memiliki kandungan alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh pemberian gel ekstrak biji pepaya secara topikal terhadap jumlah makrofag pada proses penyembuhan ulkus traumatik tikus putih. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode randomized post test only control group design. Sampel penelitian menggunakan 30 ekor tikus putih dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol negatif (K-), kelompok perlakuan konsentrasi 50% (P1), kelompok perlakuan konsentrasi 75% (P2), kelompok perlakuan konsentrasi 100% (3), dan kelompok perlakuan gel etanol 10% (P4). Gel ekstrak biji pepaya diulas 2 kali sehari secara topikal. Jumlah makrofag pada hari ke-7 dihitung dalam 5 lapang pandang menggunakan software OLYVIA dengan perbesaran 20 kali tiap lapang pandang. Hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan metode one way Anova serta menggunakan Post-Hoc tes. Dari hasi penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan jumlah makrofag antar kelompok (p<0,05). Dari hasil uji Post-Hoc jumlah makrofag kelompok perlakuan ekstrak 100% paling sedikit dibandingkan kelompok kontrol dan kelompok perlakuan yang lain. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian gel ekstrak biji pepaya secara topikal dapat mempengaruhi jumlah makrofag mukosa labial pada proses penyembuhan ulkus traumatik tikus putih.
English Abstract
Traumatic ulcers are ulcers that often occur in the oral cavity that can be caused by a mechanical, temperature, electrical, and chemical trauma. The ulcers are open sores on the surface of the skin, mucous membranes, or mucosa. From the analysis of phytochemicals papaya seeds (Carica papaya L.) contain alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponins. One factor that plays an important role in wound healing is the macrophage. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of gel seed extract of papaya topically to the number of macrophages in the process of ulcer healing on traumatic rats This study used a randomized post test only control group design. The research sample using 30 rats were divided into 5 groups: negative control group (K), the treatment group concentration of 50% (P1), the treatment group concentration of 75% (P2), the treatment group concentration of 100% (3), and the treatment group 10% ethanol gel (P4).Papaya seed extract gel are applied topically two times a day on the ulcers site. The number of macrophages in the 7th day is counted in 5 visual fields using software OLYVIA with a magnification of 20 times per visual field. This research using one way Anova analyzing methode and post Hoc test. The results showed there were differences in the number of macrophages between groups (p <0.05). From Post-Hoc test results the number of macrophages extract treatment group 100% less than the control group and the other treatment groups. The conclusion of this research was the papaya seed extract gel topically can influence the number of macrophages in the labial mucosa ulcer healing process traumatic rats.
