Abstract
Lalat Musca domestica. merupakan vektor dari beberapa penyakit seperti cholera, amoebiasis, dysentery, bacillary deisentry, ascariasis, typhoid fever, yaws dan poliomyelitis. Sehingga, diperlukan insektisida alami untuk mengendalikan vektor seperti ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi dan daun kenikir karena mengandung senyawa flavonoid, saponin dan tanin yang terkandung dalam minyak atsiri. Ketiga senyawa tersebut menyebabkan kematian pada lalat Musca domestica. Penelitian ini menggunakan studi experimental, dilakukan pada 10 ekor lalat yang dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok I sebagai kontrol negatif lalat menggunakan larutan aquadest steril. Kelompok II menggunakan larutan malathion 0,28% terhadap lalat. Kelompok III menggunakan larutan ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi dan kenikir 10% terhadap lalat. Kelompok IV menggunakan larutan ekstrak daun pandan wangi dan kenikir 15% terhadap lalat. Kelompok V menggunakan larutan ekstrak daun pandan wangi dan kenikir 20% terhadap lalat. Parameter yang diukur adalah jumlah lalat yang mati berdasarkan variasi waktu. Analisis data menggunakan metode One-Way ANOVA dengan p<0,05 dan Post Hoc Tukey HSD menunjukan nilai rerata terletak pada kolom berbeda berdasarkan waktu dan konsentrasi, dengan demikian ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi dan daun kenikir memiliki potensi sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat Musca domestica secara signifikan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah ekstrak etanol daun pandan wangi memiliki efektivitas lebih besar sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat Musca domestica dibandingkan dengan ekstrak etanol daun kenikir.
English Abstract
Flies Musca domestica are vectors of diseases such as cholera, amoebiasis, dysentery, bacillary deisentry, ascariasis, typhoid fever, yaws and poliomyelitis. Thus, natural insecticides are needed to control vectors, such as ethanol extract of clove and basil because it contains flavonoids, saponins, and tannins that contained in essential oils. Those three components are causing death in Musca domestica. This research used an experimental study, done on 10 flies that were divided into 5 groups. Group I as a negative control of flies used a sterile distilled water solution. Group II used a 0.28% solution of malathion against flies. Group III used a 10% solution of fragrant and ray flowers leaf extract against flies. Group IV used a 15% solution of fragrant and ray flowers leaf extract against flies. Group V used a 20% solution of fragrant and ray flowers leaf extract against flies. Parameter-measured was the number of flies that was dead by the time variation. Analysis of the data used One-Way ANOVA with p <0.05 and Post hoc Tukey HSD showed a mean value lay in the different columns based on time and concentration, thus the ethanol extract of clove and basil leaf had potential effect as an insecticide against Musca domestica flies significantly. This concluded that the ethanol extract of leaves of clovers had greater potential as an insecticide against Musca domestica flies than the ethanol extract of leaves of basil.
