Abstract
Askariasis merupakan penyakit infeksi kecacingan di daerah tropis dan sub tropis dengan prevalensi yang masih tinggi di Indonesia terutama pada anak, yang disebabkan oleh cacing Ascaris lumbricoides. Ascaris lumbricoides merupakan cacing gelang nematoda yang menempati usus halus manusia dan dapat menyebabkan berbagai manifestasi klinis seperti gizi buruk, Loeffler’s syndrome, hingga obstruksi pada saluran cerna dan saluran napas. Studi eksperimental menggunakan true experimental-post test only control group design dilakukan terhadap hewan coba cacing Ascaris suum pada usus babi dari Rumah Potong Hewan Gadang Malang, yang dipilih sebagai model dari Ascaris lumbricoides karena berasal dari genus yang sama, dan lebih mudah untuk mendapatkan sampel karena tidak etis bila mengambil dari usus halus manusia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Lethal Concentration 100 (LC100) dan Lethal Time (LT100) ekstrak ethanol daun srikaya (Annona squamosa. L). Terdapat 5 kelompok perlakuan yaitu PBS + 1% FBS sebagai kontrol negatif serta pirantel pamoate sebagai kontrol positif serta ekstrak ethanol daun srikaya dengan konsentrasi 30%, 40% dan 50%. Data percobaan diuji dengan aplikasi statistik SPSS menggunakan analisis probit untuk mengetahui Lethal Concentration 100 (LC100) dan Lethal Time (LT100) ekstrak ethanol daun srikaya (Annona squamosa. L). Hasil analisis probit menunjukkan LC100 ekstrak ethanol adalah 51,2% sedangkan LT100 pada konsentrasi 50% adalah 9,96 jam. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak ethanol daun srikaya memiliki daya antihelmintik terhadap cacing Ascaris suum secara in vitro.
English Abstract
Ascariasis is an infectious disease caused by worms in tropic and subtropic areas with a high prevalence in Indonesia particularly among children which is caused by Ascaris lumbricoides. Ascaris lumbricoides is a roundworm nematode that colonize in human small intestines that is a source of various clinical manifestations such as malnutrition, Loeffler’s Syndrome, gastrointestinal tract, and respiratory tract obstruction. Experimental study using a true experimental-post test only control group design on experimental animals Ascaris suum from swine’s intestine in Gadang Slaughterhouse Malang was chosen as a model of Ascaris lumbricoides because it comes from the same genus and it is easier to get a sample in swine’s intestine which is unethical when taking Ascaris lumbricoides from the human intestine. This study aims to determine Lethal Concentration 100 (LC100) and Lethal Time (LT100 of) sugar apple leaf’s (Annona squamosa. L) ethanol extract . There were 5 groups consist of PBS + 1% FBS as the negative control and pirantel pamoate as the positive control, also sugar apple leaf’s ethanol extract with concentrations of 30%, 40% and 50%. The experimental data was analyzed using SPSS statistical applications using probit analysis to determine Lethal Concentration 100 (LC100) and Lethal Time (LT100) ethanol extract of sugar apple leaf (Annona squamosa. L). Probit analysis results indicated that LC100 of ethanol extract was 51.2% while the LT100 at 50% concentration was 9.96 hours. The conclusion of this study is the ethanol extract of sugar apple leaf has the potential effect of anthelmintics against Ascaris suum in vitro.
