Abstract

Debu vulkanik merupakan partikel berukuran kecil yang diciptakan selama erupsi vulkanik. Kandungan terbanyak yang terdapat pada debu vulkanik adalah Silika yang merupakan radikal bebas yang apabila terinhalasi dan beredar di pembuluh darah dan sampai ke sel hepar dapat berefek pada kerusakan sel hepar akibat ketidakseimbangan radikal bebas dengan antioksidan. Kerusakan sel hepar mengakibatkan pengeluaran senyawa dalam sel hepar yaitu MDA. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis adanya perubahan kadar MDA pada tikus jantan normal strain Wistar yang terpapar debu vulkanik secara subkronik (28 hari). Studi eksperimen murni menggunakan Post Test Only Control Group Design dilakukan terhadap hewan coba tikus Wistar jantan dengan memaparkan debu vulkanik dosis 6,25 mg/m3 (P1), 12,5 mg/m3 (P2), dan 25 mg/m3 (P3) selama 1 jam/hari dan kelompok kontrol yang tak dipapar debu vulkanik (N). Variabel yang diukur adalah MDA. Analisa data menggunakan uji One Way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan bermakna pada kadar MDA (p=0,009). Hasil uji korelasi pearson menunjukkan nilai R (koefisien korelasi) sebesar 0,824, dimana nilai R > R table (0,01) sehingga dapat diinterpretasikan terdapat korelasi yang termasuk dalam katagori sangat kuat karena pada selang nilai 0,8–1,0. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh kadar MDA pada tikus jantan normal strain Wistar yang terpapar debu vulkanik secara sub kronik (28 hari), semakin tinggi dosis debu vulkanik yang diberikan, maka semakin tinggi pula kadar MDAnya.

English Abstract

Volcanic dusts are small sized particles that created during volcanic eruptions. Volcanic dusts mostly made of Silica, which is free radical that if inhaled and circulated in the bloodstream and to the liver can cause hepatocellular damage as a result of imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants. Hepatocytes then released MDA substance as a result of hepatocellular damage. The purpose of this study was to analyze the changes in levels of MDA of male Wistar rats that were exposed to volcanic ash in sub chronic periods (28 days). True experimental studies using Post Test Only Control Group Design conducted on male Wistar rats by exposing the volcanic dust at dose 6.25 mg/m3 (P1), 12.5 mg/m3 (P2), and 25 mg/m3 (P3) for 1 hour / day and the control group that not exposed to volcanic ash (N). The variables measured were MDA. One Way ANOVA used to analyze the data. The results showed there were significant effect in the levels of MDA (p=0,009). Pearson correlation test results show rated R (correlation coefficient) of 0824, where value R> R table (0.01) that can be interpreted hearts are correlations which includes the category of very powerful because interval 0.8-1.0 value. From the study, it can be concluded that there are differences in the levels of MDA in normal male Wistar Rats strain that were exposed to volcanic ash in sub-chronic (28 days) periods, the higher the dose of volcanic ash is given, the higher the levels of MDA.
