Hubungan Efikasi Diri dengan Perilaku Self-care Pada Lansia dengan Artritis di Kelurahan Tulusrejo.

Qiran, DewiRestiNazully (2017) Hubungan Efikasi Diri dengan Perilaku Self-care Pada Lansia dengan Artritis di Kelurahan Tulusrejo. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Elderly with arthritis tends to have limitations in range of motion, which cause a decrease in self-care behavior. Self-care behavior is also affected by self-efficacy. The aim of this research was to analyze the relationship of self-efficacy with self-care behavior in elderly with arthritis. This study used an analytic correlation with cross sectional approach. Total of 45 elderly peoples with arthritis who live at Village Tulusrejo had been selected as the samples of this research, used purposive sampling techniques. There were two variables measured in this research, they were self-efficacy as an independent variable and self-care behavior as a dependent variable, which were observed at the same time. Data retrieval had been done using structured interview method, refered to modified Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale questionnair and Self-care Assessment Worksheet questionnair. The result demonstrated that self-efficacy of 41 respondents (91%) was in a good category and also self-care behavior of 39 respondents (87%) was in a good category. The result of Spearman Rank Correlation test between self-efficacy and self-care behavior shown that p-value was 0.000 (p≤0,05) and the correlation coefficient was 0.567, which meant that correlation strength between both variables was in moderate interval. Positive value of correlation coefficient indicated that the better self-efficacy, the better self-care behavior. As we know that there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy and self-care behavior in elderly with arthritis, it is important for nurses to give education and motivation to upgrade self-efficacy in elderly with arthritis.
