Abstract

Pseudomonas aeruginosa resisten terhadap beberapa antibiotik diantaranya yaitu penisilin, sefalosporin generasi pertama dan kedua, tetrasiklin, dan kloramfenikol. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan alternatif pengobatan lainnya. Tanaman putri mamemiliki kandungan flavonoid, tanin dan saponin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan efek ekstrak tanaman putri malu sebagai antibakteri terhadap Pseudomonas aeruginosa secara In Vitro. Metode yang digunakan adalah dilusi tabung untuk menentukan Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM). Ekstrak tanaman putri malu dibuat menggunakan metode ekstraksi maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Konsentrasi ekstrak tanaman putri malu yang digunakan yaitu 0%; 1%; 1.25%; 1.50%; 1.75%; 2.0%; 2.25%, sedangkan konsentrasi Pseudomonas aeruginosa adalah 106 CFU/mL. Hasil uji Kruskall- Wallis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada perubahan konsentrasi ekstrak tanaman putri malu terhadap pertumbuhan koloni Pseudomonas aeruginosa (p=0,000). Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara konsentrasi ekstrak dengan pertumbuhan koloni (Korelasi, R = -0.910; P=0,000). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak tanaman putri malu mempunyai efek antibakteri terhadap Pseudomonas aeruginosa dengan Kadar Hambat Minimum (KHM) sebesar 2.0%.

English Abstract

Pseudomonas aeruginosa is resistant to penicillin, cephalosporin first and second generation, tetracycline, and chloramphenicol. Therefore, the study to get an alternative antimicrobial should be conducted. Putri malu contains flavonoid, tannin and saponin. This study aimed to determine putri malu plant extract as an antimicrobial against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The study used tube dilution in order to determine the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC). Putri Malu extract was made with maceration extraction method using methanol. The concentrations of the extract used were 0%; 1.0%; 1.25; 1.50%; 1.75%; 2.0%; and 2.25%, while the concentration of Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 106 CFU/mL. Kruskal-Wallis test results showed a significant difference in the change in concentration of methanol extract putri malu to the growth of Pseudomonas aeruginosa colonies (p=0.000). Correlation test showed a correlation between the concentration of the extract with colony growth (Correlation, R=-0.910; P=0.000). Based on the results, it can be concluded that Putri Malu extract has an antimicrobial effect against Pseudomonas aeruginosa with a Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) 2.0%.
