Abstract
Diabetes mellitus merupakan suatu keadaan peningkatan kadar gula darah secara menahun disertai dengan berbagai kelainan metabolik. Penderita DM memiliki kecenderungan mengidap hiperkolesterolemia. Penatalaksanaan yang biasa diberikan pada pasien diabetes menggunakan pengobatan secara oral, tapi jika diberikan dalam jangka waktu yang panjang bisa menyebabkan beberapa efek samping. Memiliki banyak manfaat, tanaman herbal mulai menarik perhatian untuk dijadikan alternatif pengobatan, salah satunya adalah kemiri (Aleurites moluccana). Aleurites moluccana merupakan tanaman asli Indonesia yang sering digunakan untuk berbagai pengobatan tradisional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak daun kemiri terhadap kadar kolesterol total. Pengukuran kolesterol total menggunakan metode enzimatik CHOD-PAP. Dosis ekstrak daun kemiri yang digunakan yaitu 100 mg/kgBB/hari; 200 mg/kgBB/hari; 400 mg/kgBB/hari. Hasil uji Anova menunjukkan adanya penurunan yang bermakna pada kadar kolesterol total serum dengan pemberian ekstrak daun kemiri (p=0,000). Uji korelasi menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara peningkatan dosis ekstrak daun kemiri dengan peningkatan efek penurunan kadar kolesterol total (Korelasi, R = -0,823; p=0,000). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun kemiri dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol total serum tikus model diabetes mellitus tipe 2.
English Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a state of increased blood sugar levels chronic accompanied by a variety of metabolic disorders. People with diabetes have a tendency to suffer from hypercholesterolemia. The management usually given to patients with diabetes is using oral medication, but if it given in the long period of time can cause some side effects. Has many benefits, herbs began to attract attention, one of which is a kemiri (Aleurites moluccana). Aleurites moluccana is native to Indonesia, which is often used for a variety of traditional medicine. This study aimed to determine the effect of kemiri leaf extract on levels of total cholesterol. Measurement of total cholesterol using enzymatic method CHOD-PAP. The dosage of the extract used were 100 mg/kgBB/day; 200 mg/kgBB/day; 400 mg/kgBB/day. Anova test results showed a significant reduction in total serum cholesterol levels with kemiri leaf extract (p=0,000). Correlation test showed a correlation between the doses of the extract with total serum cholesterol levels (Correlations, R = -0,823; p=0,000). Based on the results, it can be concluded that kemiri leaf extract can lower total serum cholesterol levels of mice models of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
