Abstract
Pil oral kombinasi dan suntik DMPA merupakan jenis kontrasepsi yang paling banyak digunakan. Akan tetapi, penggunaan alat kontrasepsi ini diduga dapat menimbulkan efek samping yaitu perubahan berat badan yang akan berpengaruh terhadap nilai Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan kontrasepsi pil kombinasi dengan suntik DMPA terhadap peningkatan IMT (penelitian di Desa Tengguli Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kecamatan Sajad Kabupaten Sambas) Tahun 2016. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 26 akseptor pil kombinasi dan 52 akseptor suntik DMPA. Data penelitian diambil dengan cara wawancara atau melihat kartu akseptor KB untuk mengetahui berat badan sebelumnya, dan mengukur berat dan tinggi badan untuk mengetahui berat badan sekarang dan IMT. Analisis univariat menggunakan tabel distribusi frekuensi dan analisis bivariat menggunakan Uji T. Hasil penelitian diketahui dari uji T dependen, bahwa tidak ada perbedaan IMT yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan kontrasepsi pil kombinasi dengan nilai p = 0,101 dan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan suntik DMPA dengan nilai p = 0,000, dengan demikian membuktikan ada perbedaan pengaruh pil kombinasi dengan suntik DMPA terhadap peningkatan IMT di Desa Tengguli Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Kecamatan Sajad Kabupaten Sambas. Disarankan pada penelitian selanjutnya mengikutsertakan faktor lain yang mungkin berpengaruh terhadap berat badan, seperti: lama pemakaian kontrasepsi, underlying disease atau penyakit kronik yang menyertai, gaya hidup, dan asupan makanan responden serta menambah jumlah sampel dan memperluas wilayah penelitian.
English Abstract
The combined oral pill and DMPA injection are the most popular type of contraceptives. However, the use of these contraceptives can cause a side effect that is weight change which will affect the value of Body Mass Index (BMI). This study aimed to determine differences of the effects between the use of the combined oral pill and DMPA injection to increase BMI. This study was done in Tengguli village, Puskesmas Sajad sub-district working area, Sambas regency in 2016. The method used in this study was cross sectional. Twenty six acceptors of combined oral pill and 52 acceptors of DMPA injection were identified as the sample of this study. The data were taken by doing interviews, checking the acceptor card to know the previous weights, and measuring the height sand weights to determine the recent weights and BMI. The univariate analysis used frequency distribution tables and bivariate analysis used T-test. The results was revealed from the dependent T-test, that there was no significant difference in BMI before and after the use of contraceptive pills combined with p = 0.101, meanwhile there is a significant difference in BMI before and after the use of DMPA injection with p = 0.000. Thus the results proved that there is a difference between the effect of the combined oral pill and DMPA injectable towards the increase of BMI in Tengguli village, Puskesmas Sajad sub-district working area, Sambas regency. It is advisable in future studies to include other factors that may affect the weight, such as duration of the use of contraceptives, underlying diseases or chronic diseases that accompany, lifestyle, and dietary intake of respondents. It is also suggested to increase the number of samples and expand the area of research.
