Abstract

Pada usia 5-6 tahun merupakan periode emas dalam perkembangan berpikir kreatif. Sehingga dibutuhkan suatu metode yang tepat untuk mengembangkan potensi tersebut. Salah satu metode yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif adalah senam otak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh senam otak terhadap tingkat berpikir kreatif pada anak usia 5-6 tahun. Desain penelitian ini adalah quasy experimental dengan pendekatan pretest posttest with control group yang memberikan perlakuan senam otak pada kelompok perlakuan sedangkan kelompok kontrol diberi senam irama yang biasa dilakukan TK tersebut. Penelitian ini melibatkan anak berusia 5-6 tahun yang berjumlah 20 responden dan terbagi menjadi dua kelompok, yakni kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah senam otak sedangkan variabel terikat adalah berpikir kreatif. Di dalam penelitian ini, pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi. Analisa data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank dan Mann-Whitney test. Berdasarkan uji Wilcoxon Sign Rank yang bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh variabel independen terhadap variabel dependen pada kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol diketahui bahwa didapatkan nilai P= 0,005 mengindikasikan H1 diterima pada kelompok perlakuan dan P= 0,123 mengindikasikan Ho diterima pada kelompok kontrol. Pada uji Mann-Whitney pretest diperoleh P= 0,343 mengindikasikan Ho diterima dan posttest P= 0,025 mengindikasikan H1 diterima. Ini berarti bahwa ada perbedaan antara senam irama dan senam otak terhadap tingkat berpikir kreatif pada anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Brawijaya Smart School Malang. Disarankan kepada perawat pediatrik, guru dan orangtua agar memperkenalkan dan melatih gerakan senam otak dimulai sejak usia dini secara rutin agar memperoleh hasil yang maksimal.

English Abstract

The age of 5-6 years was the golden period of creative thinking development. Thus an appropriate method to develop this potential was needed. One of the suitable methods to increase the creative thinking ability was brain gymnastics. This study aimed to determine the effect of brain gymnastics on the creative thinking level of children aged 5-6 years. This study used quasy experimental design with pretest posttest approaches using control group. The treatment group used brain exercise while the control group were given the usual rhythmic gymnastics kindergarten. The study involved 20 children aged 5-6 years as respondents whom divided into two groups, the treatment group and the control group. The independent variables in this study were brain exercises while the dependent variable was creative thinking. In this study, the data were collected by using observation sheet. Data were analyzed by the Wilcoxon Sign Rank test and Mann-Whitney test. Wilcoxon Sign Rank test aimed to see the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable in the treatment group and the control group. Based on that test it was known that the obtained values P= 0.005 that indicated H1 was accepted in the treatment group and P= 0.123 that indicated Ho received in the control group. While Mann-Whitney test pretest obtained P= 0.343 that indicated Ho accepted and posttest P= 0.025 that indicated H1 accepted. It means that there were differences between brain gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics regarding the creative thinking level in children aged 5-6 years, especially in Brawijaya Smart School kindergarten. It was suggested to pediatrics, teachers and parents to introduce and train the brain gymnastic movements starting from an early age on a regular basis in order to obtain maximum results.
