Abstract

Kecemasan merupakan masalah kesehatan jiwa yang seringkali menyerang lansia. Kecemasan dapat dikenal sebagai perasaan pribadi seseorang, rasa gelisah, ketidakpastian, takut dari kenyataan atau persepsi ancaman yang penyebabnya tidak diketahui dengan pasti. Kecemasan lansia dapat dikurangi dengan berbagai cara, salah satunya adalah teknik relaksasi guided imagery and music (GIM). Terapi tersebut dapat memberikan rasa nyaman dan tenang dengan membuat responden berimajinasi diiringi dengan musik. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan kecemasan pada lansia sebelum dan sesudah diberikan teknik relaksasi guided imagery and music (GIM) di Posyandu Lansia RW. 02 Kelurahan Ketawanggede. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experiment One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, dan pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling sehingga didapatkan 24 responden. Instrumen pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah kuesioner dengan menggunakan alat ukur tingkat kecemasan “Geriatric Anxiety Inventory”. Kemudian data dianalisa berdasarkan uji Paired T Test didapatkan hasil sig hitung sebesar 0,000 < α 0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan kecemasan sebelum dan sesudah diberikan teknik relaksasi guided imagery and music. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, disarankan teknik relaksasi guided imagery and music dapat dijadikan sebagai metode alternatif tindakan keperawatan yang dapat dilaksanakan di keperawatan gerontik serta perlu dipertimbangkan kerjasama antar komunitas lansia untuk menyempurnakan teknik relaksasi guided imagery and music.

English Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological problem which frequently been experienced by the elderly people. Anxiety can be recognized as personal feeling of individuals, restlessness, uncertainty, fear or perception of threat which the cause is uncertain. The anxiety of elderly individuals can be reduced in various ways, one of them is relaxation technique guided imagery and music (GIM). This technique can provide the comfort and relaxation by conducting the imagination of respondents accompanied by the music. The aim of this study is to determine the difference of anxiety among elderly people in pre and post intervention using the relaxation technique guided imagery and music (GIM) at Posyandu Lansia RW. 02 Kelurahan Ketawanggede. The study was conducted with Pre-Experiment One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, and the sampling was done using purposive sampling technique. The total sample used in this study was 24 respondents. The data collected using questionnaire of Geriatric Anxiety Inventory which is able to measure the anxiety levels of respondents eligible in this study. The data was analized using paired t test and the result showed that the null hypothesis is rejected (P= 0,000). Thus, it conclude that there is a significant difference of anxiety between pre and post-intervention using the relaxation technique guided imagery and music. The result of this study suggest that the relaxation technique guided imagery and music (GIM) can be utilized as alternative method of nursing intervention used in geriatric nursing, besides it needed to consider the collaboration among elderly community to improve the relaxation technique guided imagery and music.
