Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas gaya percakapan yang digunakan Andy dan Susi dalam acara talk show Kick Andy episode kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mencoba untuk menganalisis gaya percakapan yang digunakan oleh Andy dan Susi selaku Menteri Perikanan dan Kelautan di Indonesia. Susi diundang untuk membicarakan kasus penangkapan ikan ilegal. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menginvestigasi jenis gaya percakapan yang dilakukan oleh Andy dan Susi dalam talk show episode kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti. Peneliti juga ingin mengetahui bagaimana gaya percakapan Andy bisa berbeda dari gaya percakapan Susi di talk show tersebut. Peneliti menggunakan teori gaya percakapan yang dikemukakan oleh Tannen (2005). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan analisa konten untuk menjawab rumusan masalah karena penulis mencoba untuk menganalisa ucapan-ucapan Andy dan Susi. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah ucapan-ucapan Andy dan Susi yang mencerminkan unsure gaya percakapan dalam acara talk show Kick Andy episode kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hampir disetiap segmen Andy sering menggunakan gaya High Considerateness daripada gaya High Involvement dalam hal menyampaikan pertanyaan atau pernyataan. Di sisi lain, Susi menggunakan gaya High Involvement lebih sering daripada gaya High Considerateness dalam hal menjawab pertanyaan atau pernyataan dari Andy. Selanjutnya, peneliti juga menemukan bahwa gaya percakapan Andy berbeda dengan Susi yang mana terletak pada cara mereka menggunakan fitur gaya percakapan. Dalam percakapan, Andy sering menggunakan fitur-fitur gaya High Considerateness yaitu slower rate of speech and slower turn taking. Sedangkan Susi sering menggunakan fitur-fitur yang berbeda dari gaya High Involvement yaitu faster rate of speech, faster turn taking, avoidance inter turn pauses and overlap. Peneliti menyarankan peneliti selanjutnya untuk membahas preferensi yang digunakan oleh kedua pembicara dalam talkshow karena penelitian ini hanya berfokus pada gaya percakapan. Oleh karena itu, peneliti selanjutnya disarankan menggunakan teori Preference Structure untuk menganalisa preferensi yang digunakan oleh pembicara dalam talkshow untuk mengetahui bagaimana pola struktural disampaikan dalam percakapan.
English Abstract
This study investigated the conversational style used by Andy and Susi in Kick Andy talk show program kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti episode. In conducting the research, the researcher tried to analyze the conversational style used by Andy and Susi who is the Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs in Indonesia. She was invited to talk about illegal fishing case. In this study, the researcher investigated the types of conversational style used by Andy and Susi in the talk show kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti episode. The researcher also wanted to know how the conversational style of Andy is different from Susi in the talk show. The researcher used the theory of conversational style proposed by Tannen (2005). This study used qualitative approach and content analysis to answer the research problem since the researcher tried to analyze the utterances of Andy and Susi. The data of the study were Andy’s and Susi’s utterances reflecting conversational style in Kick Andy talk show kisah sukses Susi Pudjiastuti episode. The result of this study shows that Andy often used High Considerateness Style than High Involvement Style almost in every segment in terms of delivering the questions or statements. On the other hand, Susi used High Involvement Style more frequently than High Considerateness Style in terms of answering the questions or statements from Andy. Furthermore, the researcher also found that the conversational style of Andy is different from Susi which lay on the way they used features of conversational style. Andy often used the features of High Considerateness Style namely slower rate of speech and slower turn taking in the conversation. Whereas Susi often used different features from High Involvement Style which are faster rate of speech, faster turn taking, avoidance inter turn pauses and overlap. The researcher suggested the next researcher to discuss the preferences used by the two speakers in the talk show since this research only focuses on the conversational style. Therefore, the next researcher are suggested to use Preference Structure theory to analyze the preference used by the speakers in the talk show in order to know the way of structural pattern being delivered in a conversation.
