Pengaruh Teknik Distraksi (Baby Mobile) Terhadap Tingkat Nyeri Imunisasi Pada Bayi Usia 2-6 Bulan.

Maharani, FeronichaGadis (2015) Pengaruh Teknik Distraksi (Baby Mobile) Terhadap Tingkat Nyeri Imunisasi Pada Bayi Usia 2-6 Bulan. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

Immunization is one of the most powerful and cost-effective of all health interventions. It prevents debilitating illness and disability, and saves millions of lives every year. During the first year of infant’s life, at least there are 6 times injection of the vaccine. This procedure is an invasive procedure and cause traumatic pain response and has a negative effect. The purpose of this study is to identify the efectiveness of distraction using baby mobile on pain level during infant’s immunization. A quasi experimental using an after only nonequivalent control group design was used in this study. 18 subjects are studied in this research, which divided into two groups. The subjects in first group are intervention group who have been distracted using baby mobile, second group is a control group. Pain level were measured by a FLACC (Face, Leg, Activity, Cry, Consolability) behavioral pain scale in one minute during immunization. Bivariate analysis to determine the effect level of baby mobile distraction for immunization pain in the intervention and control groups using independent t test with (α <0.05).The results showed a significant difference levels of pain during immunization between the control group and the intervention group (p=0.000). This study showed that distraction using baby mobile is effective on the level of pain during immunization in infants aged 2-6 months. During invasive procedures, health workers can make efforts to manage pain using an effective, low cost, and does not have side effects pain management. Distraction using a baby mobile can be an alternative choice.
