Abstract
Insektisida merupakan salah satu bentuk pengendalian serangga dengan menggunakan bahan dan zat yang dapat membunuh serangga. Salah satu bahan yang dapat digunakan sebagai insektisida organik yaitu ekstrak lengkuas (Alpinia galangal L.). Kandungan aktif ekstrak yang diduga bermanfaat sebagai insektisida adalah golongan flavonoid dan saponin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi insektisida ekstrak rimpang lengkuas terhadap lalat Musca domestica. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental laboratoris murni dengan menggunakan metode post test only control group design. Pengulangan dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali pada interval waktu yaitu menit ke-10, menit ke-20, menit ke-30, menit ke-40, menit ke-50, menit ke-60, dan jam ke-24. Sampel yang digunakan adalah 10 ekor lalat Musca domestica tiap perlakuan. Perlakuan yang digunakan yaitu konsentrasi ekstrak rimpang lengkuas sebesar 30 %; 25 %; 20%; kontrol negatif (aquades); dan positif (larutan malathion 0,28%). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa potensi insektisida maksimal sebesar 100% pertama kali dicapai oleh konsentrasi ekstrak 30% pada jam ke-24, kemudian disusul oleh konsentrasi 25% dengan potensi puncak 95%, dan konsentrasi 20% dengan potensi puncak 87,5%. Hasil uji korelasi Pearson didapatkan hasil R=0.801 terhadap waktu dan R=0,220 terhadap kosentrasi, yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang sangat kuat sampai sedang dan arah yang positif antara besar konsentrasi ekstrak rimpang lengkuas dan lamanya waktu pengamatan dengan potensi insektisida. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah ekstrak rimpang lengkuas dapat berpotensi sebagai insektisida terhadap lalat Musca domestica. Potensi insektisida tidak hanya dipengaruhi oleh besarnya konsentrasi, tetapi juga dipengaruhi oleh lamanya waktu pengamatan.
English Abstract
Insecticide is one form of insect control using the materials and substances that can kill insects. One material that can be used as an organic insecticide is galangal extract (Alpinia galangal L.). The extract active ingredients that suspected useful as insecticides are flavonoid and saponin. This research aims to find out the potential of galangal rhizome extract insecticide against housefly Musca domestica. This research is a pure experimental laboratory using post test only control group design method. The repetition has done 4 times at intervals of time, they are the 10th minute, 20th minute, 30th minute, 40th minute, 50th minute, 60th minute and 24th hour. The samples used were 10 houseflies Musca domestica in every each acts. The acts used were concentration of galangal rhizome extract 30%; 25 %; 20%; negative control (aquades); and positive (malathion solution 0,28%). The results showed that the insecticide potential maximum of 100% was first achieved by 30% extract concentration at the 24th hour, followed by concentration of 25% with a peak potential of 95%, and the concentration of 20% with a peak potential of 87.5%. Pearson correlation test results showed R = 0801 to the time and R = 0.220 to the concentration, which shows that there is a very strong relation until medium and positive direction between the amount of galangal rhizome extract concentration and duration of observation with potential insecticide. The conclusion is galangal rhizome extract can be potentially as an insecticide against Musca domestica housefly. Potential insecticides are not only affected by the amount of concentration, but also influenced by the length of time of observation.
