Abstract
Streptococcus pyogenes merupakan bakteri patogen yang sering ditemukan pada inflamasi. Penyakit yang sering disebabkan oleh bakteri ini pada dentofasial adalah cellulitis dan osteomyelitis. Untuk mengatasi bakteri tersebut banyak digunakan antibakteri, termasuk antibakteri berbahan herbal. Salah satu bahan herbal yang mengandung antibakteri dan mudah ditemukan di Indonesia adalah daun sirsak. Beberapa kandungan zat aktif daun sirsak yang dapat menghambat bakteri adalah flavonoid, tanin, alkaloid, saponin, dan annonaceous acetogenin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan bahwa daun sirsak memiliki daya antibakteri terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang dilakukan terhadap Streptococcus pyogenes menggunakan difusi sumuran. Konsentrasi yang digunakan adalah 100 %, 80 %, 60 %, 40 %, dan 20 %, kontrol negatif menggunakan aquadest, dan kontrol positif menggunakan antibiotik Penicillin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat zona hambat di sekitar sumuran pada konsentrasi 100 %, 80 %, 60 %, 40 %, dan 20 %. Kemungkinan yang menyebabkan tidak terbentuknya zona hambat pada bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes adalah struktur bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes yang kompleks, kondisi daun sirsak, kandungan zat aktif, dan interaksi zat aktif yang ada pada daun sirsak. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah ekstrak daun sirsak tidak memiliki daya hambat terhadap bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes.
English Abstract
Streptococcus pyogenes is a pathogenic bacterium that is often found in inflammation. The disease that often caused by this bacterium in dentofacial are cellulitis and osteomyelitis To overcome these bacteria, antibacterial are widely used including antibacterial made from herbs. One of the herbal ingredients that contain antibacterial and easily found in Indonesia is soursop leaves. Some active substance of soursop leaves which can inhibit bacteria are flavonoids, tannin, alkaloid, saponin, and annonaceous acetogenin. This research aims to prove that the leaves of the soursop has antibacterial power against the bacteria Streptococcus pyogenes. This research is an experimental study conducted on Streptococcus pyogenes using diffusion pitting method. The concentration used were 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%, negative control using aquadest, and positive control using the antibiotic penicillin. The results showed that there are no zone of inhibition around the wells at a concentration of 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%. Possible cause for the lack inhibition zone formed in Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria are complex strucutres of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria, soursop leaves condition, active substances, and interactions of active substances that exist on soursop leaves. The conclusion of this research is soursop leaf extract have no inhibitory effect on the bacteria Streptococcus pyogenes.
