Abstract

CV. Absultech Distrindo merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang produksi woven bags (karung glangsi) dengan sistem make to stock, memiliki sebuah gudang seluas 432 m2 yang didalamnya terdapat berbagai macam material, baik bahan baku maupun produk yang disimpan dalam satu gudang. Material tersebut antara lain: plastik PP (Polypropylene) sebagai bahan dasar karung, kapur, barang jadi dan barang daur ulang (afalan) yang disimpan dengan sistem randomize storage (acak) dan ditumpuk diatas pallet. Permasalahan utama yang terjadi pada gudang tersebut adalah masih banyaknya produk yang berada diluar gudang atau di area produksi yang tentunya dapat mengganggu aktifitas material handling dan waktu proses pencarian barang yang lama. Permasalahan tersebut diakibatkan karena pengunaan gudang yang belum optimal serta banyaknya stock on hand dalam gudang. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, diperlukannya suatu sistem untuk meningkatkan kapasitas tanpa melakukan perluasan gudang, yaitu dengan metode racking system. Sedangkan permasalahan proses pencarian barang yang memakan waktu cukup lama, maka dibutuhkan sebuah layout gudang yang sesuai untuk meningkatkan efisiensi aliran proses produksi dan waktu perpindahan material. Metode yang digunakan adalah Class Based Storage, berdasarkan hukum Pareto yang membagi bebrapa level aktivitas storage dan retrieval (S/R) dalam gudang, yaitu item kelas A 80% aktivitas (S/R) yang merepresentasikan pada 20% dari total item, untuk item kelas B adalah aktivitas (S/R) sebesar 15% yang mewakili 30% dari seluruh item, maka untuk item kelas C dengan 5% aktvitas S/R yang mewakili 50% dari total item yang ada. Jadi produk akan diurutkan berdasarkan nilai troughput yang tertinggi hingga yang terendah kemudian dilakukan pengkelasan berdasarkan level aktivitas storage dan retrieval (S/R) tersebut. Kemudian merancang rak dan pallet sesuai kebutuhan produk atau bahan baku yang disimpan, selanjutnya menghitung biaya pengadaan rak, mengukur aisle untuk aktifitas material handling, menghitung jarak layout existing dan alternatif layout kemudian membandingkan dan memilih alternatif layout mana yang memberikan jarak material handling yang lebih rendah. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rak yang digunakan berjenis medium duty rack sebanyak 36 buah dengan kebutuhan pallet sebanyak 213 buah dengan total biaya pengadaan sebesar Rp. 54.652.170,60. Diusulkan dua alternatif layout, dimana layout yang memberikan jarak material handling terendah adalah Layout Tipe A dengan metode class based storage tipe within aisle yang membutuhkan jarak material handling setiap tahunnya sebesar sebesar 124365,72 m lebih rendah 27986,28 m (18,4%) dari layout gudang saat ini yang memiliki jarak 152352 m.

English Abstract

CV. Absultech Distrindo is a woven bag manufacturing company that using “make to stock” manufacturing system, which had a 432 m2 wide warehouse in which had variety of materials, there were raw material or finished product. Those material such as Polypropylene Plastic for raw material, limestone, finished good, and recycled good. The warehouse inventory system was using randomized storage system by putting them on a pallet. The main issue in the warehouse was that there were a lot of materials that were outside of the warehouse and in the production area that disturbed the material handling activities, and made it hard to find the material that was needed. This issue was caused by the stock on hand in the warehouse was too many and the usage of the warehouse’ facility was not optimized. Based on those problems, a system that can increase the warehouse capacity without enlarging the area is needed, and that was using racking system. As for the issue with the material locating time can be improved using a suitable layout for the warehouse facility to increase the efficiency of material handling and the production flow. By using this Class Based Storage method, the system can made the storage more flexible by separating the storage space into several location that had been classified according to PARETO which considered the level of storage and retrieval (S/R) in the warehouse, which was class A 80% activity (S/R) that represented 20% of total item, and class B 15% activity (S/R) that represented 30 of total item, and class C with 5% activity (S/R) that represented 50% of total item. So the product will be arranged according to the highest throughput value to the lowest throughput value then classified according to the activity level of storage and retrieval (S/R). And then place the shelving and pallet as needed for the product or raw material, then calculate the cost for shelving procurement, then measuring the aisle for material handling, then analyzed the difference in the travel distance for the existing layout and the alternative layout to see which one had the shortest distance travel for material handling. From the result of research indicate, that the rack was used was a medium duty rack as many as 36 fruit with requirement of pallet counted 213 with total cost of procurement equal to 54.652.170,60 IDR. Two layout alternatives are proposed, where the layout that provides the lowest material handling distance is Type A Layout with class based storage method within aisle. From the alternative layout, requires material handling distance every year for 124365,72 m lower 27986,28 m (18,4%) of the current warehouse layout that has a distance of 152352 m
