Abstract
Candida albicans merupakan spesies jamur yang paling umum menyebabkan infeksi pada manusia, bahkan sebagian besar wanita akan mengalami infeksi pada vagina setidaknya satu kali selama hidup mereka. Data terakhir menyebutkan bahwa C.albicans semakin resisten terhadap pengobatan antifungal. Oleh karena itu diperlukan penelitian untuk mendapatkan antifungal alternatif. Senyawa yang terkandung dalam daun sirih hijau dan daun sirih merah diduga mempunyai antifungal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan efektivitas antifungal antara ekstrak daun sirih hijau dan esktrak daun sirih merah terhadap pertumbuhan C.albicans secara invitro. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan eksperimental laboratorik dengan metode dilusi tabung. Analisa statistik One-way ANOVA pada masing-masing ekstrak menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000, bahwa terdapat perbedaan efek antifungal pada pemberian ekstrak daun sirih hijau atau ekstrak daun sirih merah terhadap jumlah koloni C.albicans. Pada uji Two-way ANOVA, terdapat perbedaan signifikan (nilai p=0,000) pada jumlah koloni C.albicans antara perlakuan ekstrak daun sirih hijau dan ekstrak daun sirih merah, dimana ekstrak daun sirih hijau lebih efektif menghambat C.albicans. Dari penelitian didapatkan Kadar Bunuh Minimum (KBM) ekstrak daun sirih merah pada konsentrasi 100% sedangkan pada ekstrak daun sirih hijau pada konsentrasi 9%.
English Abstract
Candida albicans is the most common fungal species causing infections in humans , even majority of women will experience a vaginal infection at least once during their lifetime.The latest data says that C.albicans more resistant to antifungal treatment. Therefore, research is needed to obtain an alternative antifungal. Compounds contained in green betel leaves and red betel leaves presumed to have antifungal. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of antifungal between green betel leaf and red betel leaf on the growth of C.albicans in vitro. The design of this study using laboratory experimental with tube dilution method . Statistical analysis One - way ANOVA on each of the extracts showed a significance value of 0.000 , that there is a difference in the antifungal effect between extract of green betel leaf and extract of red betel leaf against the number of colonies of C.albicans. At Two - way ANOVA test , there were significant differences ( p value = 0.000 ) in the number of colonies of C.albicans between treatment green betel leaf extract and red betel leaf extract , green betel leaf extract which is more effective at inhibiting C.albicans .
