Abstract
Sampai saat ini radioterapi dan kemoterapi masih merupakan pengobatan yang dilakukan untuk karsinoma nasofaring. Radioterapi dan atau kemoterapi dapat menimbulkan efek terhadap asupan gizi penderita. Dimana efek samping kemoterapi yang timbul secara langsung terjadi dalam waktu 24 jam pengobatan, berupa mual dan muntah hebat, diare, perubahan pengecapan, tidak nafsu makan sehingga akan mempengaruhi asupan makan dan berkontribusi pada terjadinya malnutrisi . Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) dan Total Lymphocyte Count (TLC) merupakan beberapa parameter pengukuran status gizi seseorang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan status gizi pada pasien karsinoma nasofaring sebelum dan sesudah menjalani kemoterapi. Metode yang dipakai pada penelitian ini adalah cohort design . Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa tidak terjadi perbedaan bermakana antara IMT sebelum kemoterapi dengan sesudah kemoterapi dengan nilai signifikansi p= 0,278 (>0,05), sedangkan untuk TLC , terjadi penurunan yang signifikan antara TLC sebelum kemoterapi dengan sesudah kemoterapi dengan nilai sigifikansi p = 0,034( <0.05).Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada status gizi pasien karsinoma nasofaring tidak terjadi perubahan IMT yang bermakna sesudah menjalani kemoterapi, sedangkan untuk limfosit terjadi penurunan TLC yang signifikan pada pasien karsinoma nasofaring setelah menjalani kemoterapi.
English Abstract
Nowadays radiotherapy and chemotheraphy is still a standard treatment for nasopharyngeal cancer. Treatment with radiotherapy and or chemotherapy can effect the nutrient status of patients.The side effect that can happen in 24 hours after chemotheraphy are nausea and vomit, diarrhea, and lost of apetite. so that infuence food intake and contribute to the malnutrition condition. Body Mass Index ( BMI ) and total lymphocyte count (TLC) are several indicator of a nutrient status measurement. The objective of this study is to defi ne the alteration of nutrient status in nasopharyngeal cancer patients with who before and after underwent chemotheraphy. This reaserch method was conducted with cohort designThe result analysis showed no significant difference of body mass index between before and after chemotheraphy with significancy p=0,287 (>0,05),Whereas for TLC showed significant decrease between before and after chemotheraphy with significancy sigifikansi p = 0,034( <0.05). . It was concluded that nutriitional status in nasopharyngeal cancer patient there were no diffference of body mass index and there is a signifi nutrient status reduction of TLC in nasopharyngeal cancer patients after chemotheraphy
