Abstract
Body Condition Score (BCS) merupakan metode penilaian subyektif menggunakan penglihatan dan perabaan untuk menduga cadangan lemak tubuh. BCS didasarkan pada estimasi visual timbunan lemak tubuh di bawah kulit sekitar pangkal ekor, tulang punggung, tulang rusuk, dan pinggul. Pengukuran BCS dapat dinilai dari angka, nilai angka 1 sampai 5. BCS menggambarkan cadangan lemak yang digunakan sapi perah sebagai energi untuk mengoptimalkan produktivitasnya terutama selama pertumbuhan fetus dan produksi susu. English Abstract
This research was conducted at the dairy farming in KPSP Setia Kawan Wonosari Village, Disrict Tutur, Pasuruan. The material was used 45 dairy cows with 9 months old pregnant. The method that used was case study at the farm. The aim of This research is to get Correlation of the BCS with Calves Birth Weight and Colostrum Production of Friesian Holstein Crossbred Dairy Cows. Primary data collection was done direct observation of 9 months pregnant BCS, calves birth weight and colostrum production. The data were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis. The result showed that regression analysis on calves birth weight was Y=35.66+0.26X with r = 0.09 and R2 = 0.85%. and regression analysis on colostrum production was Y =7.60+0.46X with r = 0.15 and R2 = 2.25%. The highest calves birth weight was BCS 4 (37.4±2.53 kg/cow/day) and the highest colostrum production was BCS 4 (10.06±2.64 liter/cow/day). This can be concluded that BCS with Calves Birth Weight and Colostrum Production of Friesian Holstein Crossbred Dairy Cows has low positive correlation.
