Abstract

Dislipidemia merupakan kondisi yang sering terjadi pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2. Model dislipidemia yang biasa terjadi adalah penurunan kadar HDL. Diketahui MHCP pada kayu manis dapat menurunkan gula darah pada penderita diabetes. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh pemberian bubuk kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) terhadap kadar kolesterol HDL. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Post Test Only Control Group. Sampel terdiri dari 25 ekor tikus putih Rattus novergicus strain wistar jantan yang dibagi kedalam 5 kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok perlakuan P1, P2, P3, dan P4 diinduksi Streptozotosin (STZ) 55 mg/kg BB, kemudian pada kelompok P2, P3, dan P4 diberi bubuk kayu manis dengan dosis sebesar 27 mg, 54 mg, 108 mg. Analisis data menggunakan metode One Way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian bubuk kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmanii) berpengaruh terhadap kadar kolesterol HDL tikus rattus norvegicus strain wistar jantan model diabetes melitus tipe 2 (p = 0,027). Dosis kayu manis yang dinilai paling efektif terhadap peningkatan kadar kolesterol HDL adalah dosis 27 mg/hari. Kesimpuan dari penelitian ini adalah bubuk kayu manis dapat meningkatkan kadar kolesterol HDL tikus dengan diabetes mellitus tipe 2.

English Abstract

Dyslipidemia is the most determinant factor leading to the coronary heart disease for those who were suffering from diabetes type 2. The general dyslipidemia models adversely consuming the diabetic patients were the decreasing level of HDL cholesterol. MHCP in cinnamon known as insulin mimetic which significantly contributes to the reduction of glucose either to a diabetic person or an animal. This recent study is to examine the effects of cinnamon (Cinnamomum burmanii) powder given to diabetic patients due to the decrease of the HDL cholesterol level. The research employed Post Test Only Control Group method. Samples studied in this investigation involved 25 Rattus norvegicus strain wistar which divided into 5 categorizes. P1, P2, P3, and P4 were given Streptozotocin (STZ) 55 mg/ kg BB, and then P2, P3 and P4 were given cinnamon powder contains 27 mg, 54 mg, and 108 mg as a treatment basis. The finding of the research demonstrates that the level of HDL cholesterol increases significantly among the groups (p = 0,027). The distribution of the cinnamon powders containing 27 mg dose per day is construed to have a greatest role in increasing the level of HDL cholesterol. Conclusion from this research is cinnamon powder can increases the level of HDL cholesterol level in Model Diabetes Mellitus Type 2 Rattus Norvegicus Strain Wistar.
