Abstract
Peningkatan konsumsi gula di Indonesia dari tahun ke tahun dapat menjadi sebuah peluang untuk meningkatkan kapasitas produksi pada pabrik gula. Perusahaan membutuhkan modal kerja sebagai faktor utama dalam menggerakkan aktivitas operasi perusahaan, selain investasi fisik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui sumber dan penggunaan modal kerja di PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X yang merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak pada bidang subsektor perkebunan dengan produk utama, yaitu gula. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder berupa laporan keuangan. Analisis data menggunakan neraca perbandingan, laporan perubahan modal kerja, analisis sumber dan penggunaan modal kerja, dan arus kas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal kerja PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X cenderung mengalami kenaikan selama tahun 2013-2015. Kenaikan tersebut dikarenakan keberhasilan perusahaan dalam meningkatkan penjualan. Arus kas PT. Perkebunan Nusantara X mengalami kenaikan dan penurunan selama tahun 2013-2015. Kenaikan dan penurunan tersebut dikarenakan meningkatnya perolehan kas bersih dari aktivitas operasi dan menurunnya penggunaan kas bersih untuk aktivitas investasi serta meningkatnya penggunaan kas bersih untuk aktivitas pendanaan.
English Abstract
The rise of sugar annual consumption in Indonesia might be an opportunity to increase the production rate of sugar factories. A company needs working capital as the major factor to actuate operational activities, excluding physical investment. This research aims to examine the source and use of working capital at PT Perkebunan Nusantara X, a company engaging in farming subsector with sugar as the main product. The data used in this descriptive research are secondary data obtained from the company’s financial statements. The data are analyzed in terms of the balance sheet comparation, working capital changes report, analysis of the source and use of working capital, and cash flow. The result of the analysis reveals that the working capital of PT Perkebunan Nusantara X tends to increase during 2013-2015 due to the company’s success to improve sales. The company’s cash flow shows both increase and decrease during the years due to the rise of the net cash acquisition from the operational activities, the decline of the usage of the net cash for investment activities, and the increase of the use of the net cash for funding activities.
