Abstract
Candida albicans ( C.albicans ) merupakan flora normal dalam rongga mulut dan menjadi patogen apabila terjadi gangguan sistem imun dan ketidakseimbangan lingkungannya. Insidensi kandidiasis oral dilaporkan mencapai 75%. Sedangkan obat antifungi sering menimbulkan efek samping karena toksisitas selektifnya rendah. Lada hitam ( Piper nigrum Linn. ) mengandung zat aktif minyak esensial, saponin, alkaloid yang berpotensi sebagai antifungi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji apakah ekstrak lada hitam ( Piper nigrum Linn. ) berpotensi sebagai antifungi terhadap Candida albicans secara in-vitro . Penelitian eksperimental laboratorik ini dilakukan dengan desain post control only design . Sampel C.albicans no . Reg. 005-ST diperoleh dari persediaan kultur Laboratorium Mikrobiologi FKUB. Pengujian efek antifungi dilakukan dengan tube dilution test . Metode analisis data secara statistik dilakukan dengan uji One-Way Anova, Post Hoc Tukey, pearson dan Regresi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah KHM pada konsentrasi ekstrak lada hitam 15% dan KBM pada konsentrasi ekstrak lada hitam 20%. Pada analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi ekstrak lada hitam maka semakin rendah pertumbuhan koloni C.albicans . Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ekstrak ethanol lada hitam berpotensi sebagai antifungi terhadap C.albicans secara in-vitro .
English Abstract
Candida albicans ( C.albicans ) is normal flora in oral cavity and will be pathogen if there’re disorders of immune system or its imbalance . The incidence of Oral Candidiasis were reported up to 75%. Antifungal drug often causes side effect because of low selective toxicity. Black pepper ( Piper nigrum L. ) contains essentials oil, saponin, and alkaloid; which are active antifungal substances. This research objective was to assay the antifungal potency of black pepper extract toward C.albicans In-vitro Way. This experimental research conducted in post control only design. C.albicans no.Reg. 005-ST sample were obtained from Microbiology Laboratorium of Brawijaya Medical Faculty. The antifungal potency was being tested using tube dilution test method. Statistical data analysis were being proceed using Anova, Post Hoc Tukey, pearson and Regresi methods. The results were 15% MIC (Minimum Inhibitory Concentration) value of black pepper extract and 20% MFC (Minimum Fungicidal Concentration) value of black pepper extract. The result of data analyses is the higher the concentration of black pepper extract, the fewer C.albicans colonies would be. The conclusion of this researh was black pepper ethanol extract has an antigungal potency toward C.albicans In-vitro Way.
