English Abstract
The purpose of this research was to know the effect of difference altitude to milk production of dairy cows Friesian Holstein crossbreed. The research was conducted on December 2017 until January 2018 at Srengat, Blitar and Pudak, Ponorogo area. The research materials used 60 head of dairy cows Friesian Holstein consist of 30 heads in Pudak, Ponorogo with altitude ±960 asl and 30 heads in Srengat, Blitar with altitude ±160 asl, parity of 2.3.4 and parity consist lactation months of 2 in all area. The variables of milk production and environmental factor releated to milk production that is temperature, air humidity, temperature humidity indexs (THI) and feed consumption. The method that used for research was case study. The obtained data has ben analyzed by t-test not in paired. The result showed that the altitude have highly affected on milk production with value (P<0.01). Average milk production at highland was 27.88±2.63 liters and lowland was 20.49±1.61 liters. Comsumption Dry Matter Intake at highland was 13.98 Kg v and lowland was 13.54 Kg. Average of temperature highland was 21.58±2.37 ºC and lowland was 26.53±2.10 ºC. Average air humidity at highland was 82.11±6.37 percent and lowland was 86.33±4.68 percent. Average THI at highland was 67.71±3.60 and lowland was 78.36±3.03. Suggested improvement of environmental conditions at lowlands trought the control of the temperature and humidity index (THI) was not more than 72 that so apropiate for the convenience of life dairy cows and improving management of productivity and feeding.
