Abstract
Anthropocentrism adalah satu dari tiga pendekatan mendasar terhadap etika lingkungan. Dalam filsafat, antroposentrisme dapat merujuk pada sudut pandang bahwa manusia adalah satu-satunya, atau primer, pemegang kedudukan moral. Film Jurassic World bercerita tentang taman hiburan modern tempat dinosaurus kloning dikembangbiakkan.Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian tentang antroposentrisme yang tercermin pada tindakan manusia di film Jurassic World. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti akan menjawab permasalahan penelitian, tentang bagaimana tindakan manusia mencerminkan antroposentrisme dalam film Jurassic World. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan ecocriticism, studi film dan sinematografi sebagai metode untuk menganalisis sudut pandang antroposentrisme yang mencerminkan tindakan manusia dalam film Jurassic World. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tindakan manusia yang mencerminkan perspektif antroposentrisme dalam film Jurassic World adalah; (1) eksploitasi manusia terhadap hewan sebagai objek untuk hiburan, dikarenakan manusia melihat hewan sebagai alat untuk mendapatkan uang. (2) penggunaan teknologi yang menentang alam, dimana manusia memanfaatkan teknologi untuk mengeksploitasi hewan. Kesimpulannya, perspektif antroposentrisme menyebabkan dampak buruk bagi kehidupan makhluk hidup yang lain. Manusia cenderung mengeksploitasi alam untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mereka tanpa memperdulikan keadaan alam itu sendiri. Kenyataannya, manusia tidak bisa hidup tanpa alam, karena alam menyediakan element penting yang dibutuhkan manusia untuk bertahan hidup. Namun, manusia tidak menyadari hal itu dikarenakan pola pikir mereka yang beranggapan bahwa manusia adalah pusat dari alam semesta.
English Abstract
Anthropocentrism is one of three basic approaches to the environmental ethics. In philosophy, anthropocentrism can refer to the point of view that humans are the only primary holders moral standing. Jurassic World movie tells about a modern amusement park where cloned dinosaurs bred. Therefore, the researcher conducts a study about anthropocentrism that is reflected on human actions in the Jurassic World movie. In this study, the researcher will answer the problem of the study, on how human actions reflect anthropocentrism in Jurassic World movie. This study uses ecocriticism approach, movie studies and cinematography as the method to analyze the anthropocentrism point of view which is reflected in human`s actions in the Jurassic World movie. The result of the study shows that human actions that reflect anthropocentrism perspective in the Jurassic World movie are: (1) human exploitation towards the animal as an object of entertainment, because human see animals as tool to get money. (2) the use of technology that opposes nature, in which human`s utilize technology to exploit animals. In conclusion, anthropocentrism perspective leads to bad impacts on the life other living creature. Human tends to exploit the nature to fulfill their needs without any concern about the condition of nature itself. In fact, human cannot live without nature, because nature provides the essential elements that humans need to survive. However, human do not realize about that because of their mindset that seen humans as the centerpiece of the universe.
