Abstract
Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Waru Kabupaten Pamekasan. Waktu yang dibutuhkan untuk pengumpulan data selama sebulan yaitu bulan 14 November 2017 sampai dengan 14 Desember 2017. Penentuan lokasi penelitian dan metode pengambilan data secara purposive sampling, yaitu pemilihan subyek berdasarkan kelompok BCS dan induk sapi Madura yang di IB dan sudah diketahui sebelumnya serta mengacu pada pengambilan sampel berdasarkan kepemilikan induk sapi Madura. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan Body Condition Score (BCS) yaitu BCS 2, BCS 3 dan BCS 4 terhadap performan reproduksi yaitu Service per Conception (S/C), Calving Interval (CI) dan Days Open (DO) pada sapi Madura di Kecamatan Waru Kabupaten Pamekasan. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 98 ekor sapi Madura dengan kriteria sapi yang sudah partus sebanyak 2 kali dan dibedakan berdasarkan BCS serta melalui wawancara kepada pemilik ternak di wilayah kerja inseminator serta recording ternak di Kecamatan Waru, Kabupaten Pamekasan. ix Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi kasus dengan pengumpulan data. Pengambilan data meliputi penilaian Body Condition Score (BCS) yang dilakukan dengan cara pengamatan secara langsung dan berpartisipasi aktif di lapang serta wawancara langsung dengan peternak saat dilakukan IB, rekording yang diperoleh dari petugas Inseminator Kecamatan Waru yang dicocokkan dengan kartu hasil IB yang dimiliki oleh peternak dan data Dinas Peternakan Kabupaten Pamekasan. Variabel yang diamati berdasarkan data reproduksi sapi Madura yang meliputi Service per Conception, Calving Interval dan Days Open. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian diolah menggunakan analisis varians satu arah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa BCS yang dikelompokkan menjadi 3 kelompok yaitu kelompok BCS 2 dibandingkan kelompok BCS 3 dan kelompok BCS 4 memberikan pengaruh yang sama terhadap performan reproduksi sapi Madura. Rata-rata nilai S/C sapi Madura pada kelompok BCS 2 yaitu 1,58 ± 0,87 kali dibandingkan kelompok BCS 3 1,44 ± 0,59 kali dan kelompok BCS 4 yaitu 1,67 ± 0,57 kali. Rata-rata nilai DO pada kelompok BCS 2 yaitu 111,36 ± 13,06 hari, kelompok BCS 3 107,85 ± 9,96 hari dan kelompok BCS 4 108 ± 10 hari. Rataan nilai CI pada kelompok BCS 2 yaitu 403,18 ± 21,06 hari, kelompok BCS 3 397,18 ± 18,77 hari dan kelompok BCS 4 yaitu 409 ± 17,34 hari. Disimpulkan bahwa kelompok BCS 2 dibandingkan kelompok BCS 3 dan 4 terhadap nilai S/C, DO dan CI sapi Madura adalah sama. Untuk meningkatkan nilai performans reproduksi sapi Madura disarankan peternak lebih memperhatikan penyapihan pedet agar DO dan CI dapat diperpendek dan diharapkan ternak sapi betina dapat melahirkan pedet tiap tahun.
English Abstract
The aim of this research was to know effect of Body Condition Score (BCS) on reproductive performance of Madura cattle which mated by artificial insemination cattle as measured by Service per Conception (S/C), Days Open (DO) and Calving Interval (CI) and a source of information to be used as input and evaluation Animal Husbandry Departement in order to improve the reproductive performance according parity in Waru Subdistrict Pamekasan Regency. Determination of research location and method of intake of data determined by purposive sampling. The material used of this research was 98 Madura cattles with criteria of cows that have been partus as much as 2 times and differentiated by BCS. Samples were selected accidentaly within the same district in Waru. The method used in this research was a case study. The data was taken primary and secondary data. Primary data retrieval includes assessment of BCS 2 compared with BCS 3 and BCS 4 done by direct observation and also direct interview with farmers when done by AI. Secondary data was obtained by recording the Artificial Insemination (AI) card owned by the farmers and from Animal Husbandry Departement. Data vii obtained in this research were analyzed by one way anova. The conclusion of this research was BCS 2 group compared with the BCS 3 and BCS 4 on Madura cattle reproduction performance in Waru District of Pamekasan Regency based on S/C, DO and CI were equal.
