Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis dan memberikan bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh motivasi terhadap minat mahasiswa akuntansi untuk mengikuti pendidikan PPAk. Motivasi terdiri atas motivasi kualitas, motivasi karir, dan motivasi ekonomi Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah bahwa motivasi kualitas, motivasi karir, dan motivasi ekonomi mempengaruhi minat mahasiswa akuntansi untuk mengikuti PPAk baik secara simultan maupun parsial. Penelitian ini menggunakan 59 mahasiswa jurusan akuntansi internasional Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis Universitas Brawijaya yang masih aktif sampai dengan tahun ajaran 2011/2012. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan dan kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi kualitas, motivasi karir dan motivasi ekonomi secara simultan mempunyai pengaruh terhadap minat mahasiswa untuk mengikuti PPAk. Namun secara parsial motivasi kualitas dan motivasi ekonomi tidak mempunyai pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa untuk mengikuti PPAk, sedangkan motivasi karir mempunyai pengaruh signifikan terhadap minat mahasiswa untuk mengikuti PPAk.

English Abstract

The objective of this research is to analyze and provide empirical evidence about the influence of motivations towards accounting students’ interest to follow Professional Accounting Education (PPAk). Motivations consist of quality motivation, career motivation and economic motivation. The hypothesis is that the quality motivation, economic motivation and career motivation have an influence towards students’ interest to follow PPAk both simultaneously and partially. This research used 59 students majoring in international accounting Faculty of Economics and Business of Brawijaya University which is still active until the academic year 2011/2012. The research data obtained by using a questionnaire which distributed and then analyzed with multiple regression analysis. The result shows that quality motivation, career motivation and economic motivation simultaneously have an influence towards students’ interest to follow PPAk. However, partially quality motivation and economic motivation do not have a significant influence towards students’ interest to follow PPAk, while career motivation has a significant influence towards students’ interest to follow PPAk.
