Abstract
Penelitian eksperimen ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil penilaian kompetensi antara kandidat dari peranakan etnis Tionghoa dengan kandidat dari peranakan etnis Arab dalam wawancara kerja yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan etnis. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah between-subject dengan melibatkan 64 orang mahasiswa Psikologi Universitas Brawijaya angkatan 2015 yang telah lulus mata kuliah Psikodiagnostik I. Partisipan dalam eksperimen ini dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, yaitu kelompok yang diberi tontonan video wawancara dengan kandidat yang berasal dari peranakan etnis Tionghoa (32) dan video wawancara dengan kandidat yang berasal dari peranakan etnis Arab (32). Setelah menonton video, partisipan diminta untuk memberikan penilaian dengan cara meberikan rating pada delapan kompetensi terhadap kandidat tersebut berdasarkan kamus kompetensi. Hasil analisis menggunakan independent sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil penilaian kompetensi kandidat peranakan etnis Tionghoa dan peranakan etnis Arab, dimana kandidat peranakan etnis Tionghoa memperoleh penilaian lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada kandidat yang berasal dari etnis Arab.
English Abstract
This experimental study aims to determine differences in the results of competency assessment between candidates from heredity of Chinese with candidates from heredity of Arab in job interviews caused by heredity differencers. The research design used was the between-subject involving 64 the psychology students of Brawijaya’s University class of 2015 who have passed the course of Psychodiagnostic I. Participants in this experiment were divided into two groups, the group that was watched video interviews with candidates from heredity of Chinese (32) and video interviews with candidates from heredity of Arab (32). After that, the participants were asked to give the ratings of eight competense towards those candidates based on a dictionary of competences. The results of the independent sample t-test show that there is a significant difference between the results of competency assessment of heredity of Chinese and heredity of Arab, where heredity of Chinese candidates get significantly higher scores than candidates from heredity of Arab.
