English Abstract

Naturally, investment in emerging capital markets sector, following the industrial development of Islamic banking and Islamic insurance industry is increasingly growing. However, excess liquidity from the two sectors, raises the need for other investment products are Sharia compliant. So it is encouraging the development of investment products based on Islamic capital markets sector. Until now, few investment instruments based on Islamic capital markets sector that has grown is the Islamic bonds (sukuk), company shares sharia and sharia mutual funds. In this case there are some problems identified and below appear as a discussion, such as regulatory framework, compliance and adherence to Islamic principles, product variety, cost factors that accompany the transaction, the development of the ability of market participants, educating investors, and exchange of knowledge (knowledge sharing). This study aims to understand the knowledge of market player about the regulation of sukuk accounting and compare it with existing theories. This descriptive qualitative research emphasizes on three main points to be extracted from the market players, among others: the definition of sukuk, the mechanism / sukuk accounting regulations, and expectations / input. Data is collected through semi-structured interviews. Based on the results of this study concluded that an understanding of market participants (fund managers in the securities institution) is still low. Lack of market demand for investment due to one of them because of lack of education of the relevant institutions to the community.
