Abstract
Sony Pictures Entertainment merupakan perusahaan produksi film Amerika Serikat. Pada 24 November 2014 Sony Pictures Entertainment mengalami serangan cyber yang mengancam keamanan nasional Amerika Serikat. Menanggapi itu, Sony Pictures Entertainment bekerjasama dengan Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) untuk menyelidiki kasus tersebut. Menurut hasil penyelidikan yang dilakukan oleh FBI serangan cyber tersebut dilakukan oleh Korea Utara, dikarenakan akan di rilisnya film The Interview yang menceritakan tentang pembunuhan Pemimpin Korea Utara yakni Kim Jong Un. Serangan cyber tersebut di nilai merupakan perbuatan yang mengancam keamanan nasional Amerika Serikat, sehingga menjadikan Presiden Barack Obama kembali menjatuhkan penambahan sanksi ekonomi terhadap Korea Utara dikarenakan kasus serangan cyber tersebut, sanksi tersebut dijatuhkan pada 2 Januari 2015. Dalam tulisan ini, akan dijelaskan menggunakan teori pengambilan keputusan kebijakan luar negeri dari William D. Coplin.
English Abstract
Sony Pictures Entertainment is a United States film production company. On 24th November, 2014 Sony Pictures Entertainment suffered a cyber attack that threatened the national security of the United States. In response, Sony Pictures Entertainment collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to investigate the case. According to the results of an investigation conducted by the FBI, the cyber attack was carried out by North Korea, due to the release of the film The Interview, that tells about the attempted murder of North Korean leader, Kim Jong Un. The cyber attack was viewed as an action that’s threaten the national security of the United States, thus making President Barack Obama imposed additional economic sanctions against North Korea due to cyber attacks on January 24th, 2015. In this paper, this case will be explained using the theory of foreign policy decision making by William D. Coplin.
