Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kondisi financial constrain ts, yang terindikasi melalui rasio keuangan perusahaan, mempengaruhi nilai perusahaan. Dan dalam hal ini tercermin dalam return saham perusahaan. Hipotesis yang diajukan dalam penelitian ini adalah: terdapat perbedaan average return yang signifikan antara kelompok perusahaan yang terindikasi financial constrai nt dengan kelompok perusahaan yang tidak terindikasi financial constraint. Penelitian ini melibatkan 117 perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Jakarta pada tahun 2003-2005 sebagai sampel, yang diuji dengan menggunakan analisis uji beda dua mean. Variabel yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian ini adalah average return , dan juga menggunakan indeks Kaplan dan Zingales sebagai dasar pengelompokan perusahaan constrained dan non-constrained . Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan average return yang signifikan antara kelompok perusahaan constrained dengan kelompok perusahaan non-constrained . Walaupun terdapat kecenderungan bahwa rata-rata return kelompok perusahaan yang terindikasi financial constrained lebih kecil dari kelompok perusahaan non-constrained.
