Abstract
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui kategori penggunaan penanda wacana dalam percakapan dengan karakter utama dalam skrip film di luar, dan untuk menganalisis fungsi penggunaan penanda wacana yang ditemukan dalam percakapan dengan skrip film karakter utama. Untuk melakukan penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan pragmatis. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Fraser`s (1996) untuk mengetahui kategori penanda wacana. Peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah dari dalam skrip film di luar yang diambil dari Internet. Dari hasil analisis, karakter utama film di luar film yang merupakan kegembiraan dan kesedihan menggunakan empat kategori spidol wacana. Ada marker perubahan topik, penanda kontras, penanda elaboratif, dan penanda inferensial. Dalam penelitian ini, yang paling sering digunakan oleh karakter utama adalah penanda elaboratif yaitu dari 41 ucapan, diikuti oleh penanda kontras yang berasal dari 14 ucapan, kemudian diikuti oleh penanda inferensial yaitu dari 11 ucapan, dan yang paling sering digunakan oleh utama. Karakter adalah penanda perubahan topik yaitu dari 6 ucapan. Selain itu, fungsi penggunaan penanda wacana berbeda dari masing-masing kategori dan konteksnya. Secara umum, pertama, fungsi penggunaan marker perubahan topik adalah speaker yang menuju ke topik baru di S2 dari segmen sebelumnya. Kedua, fungsi penggunaan penanda kontras adalah speaker yang berupa sebaliknya dari segmen sebelumnya. Ketiga, fungsi penggunaan penanda elaboratif adalah speaker menambahkan beberapa informasi yang terkait dengan segmen sebelumnya. Dan terakhir, fungsi penggunaan penanda inferensial adalah speaker sedang mencoba untuk menyimpulkan segmen sebelumnya. Untuk peneliti berikutnya, disarankan untuk memilih objek lain dari penelitian ini untuk menemukan berbagai jenis spidol wacana karena cukup sulit untuk menemukan berbagai jenis penanda wacana dalam skrip film, juga disarankan untuk memilih teori lain dan menggunakan pendekatan lain Seperti dari pendekatan semantik untuk menemukan pesan terpisah dan fungsi penggunaan penanda wacana lebih mudah.
English Abstract
This study was conducted to find out categories of discourse marker use in the conversation by the main characters’ Inside Out movie script, and to analyze the function of the use of discourse markers found in the conversation by the main characters’ Inside Out movie script. In order to conduct this study, the researcher used Pragmatic approach. This study used Fraser’s (1996) theory to find out discourse markers categories. The researcher uses qualitative descriptive research method. The data source of this study was from Inside Out movie script which was taken from internet. From the result of analysis, the main characters of Inside Out movie which were Joy and Sadness used four of discourse markers categories. There are topic change marker, contrastive marker, elaborative marker, and inferential marker. In this study, the most frequently used by the main characters is elaborative marker which are from 41 utterances, followed by contrastive marker which are from 14 utterances, then followed by inferential marker which are from 11 utterances, and the least frequently used by the main characters is topic change marker which are from 6 utterances. Additionally, the function of the use of discourse marker are different from each of the categories and the context. Generally, first, the function of the use of topic change marker is the speaker heading to the new topic in S2 from the previous segment. Second, the function of the use of contrastive marker is the speaker opines the opposite from the previous segment. Third, the function of the use of elaborative marker is the speaker added some information related to the previous segment. And last, the function of the use of inferential marker is the speaker is trying to conclude the prior segment. For the next researcher, it is suggested to choose other objects of this study to find various kind of discourse marker since it is quite hard to find various kind of discourse marker in movie script, also it is suggested to choose other theories and use other approaches like from semantic approach to find the separate message and the function of the use of discourse marker easier.
