Abstract
Film adalah salah satu genre dalam literatur yang berisi plot, karakter, karakterisasi, pengaturan dan juga dialog. Avatar Korra Book One adalah salah satu film yang menceritakan tentang penjahat yang meyakinkan warga menggunakan pidato. Ada satu masalah penelitian: bagaimana perubahan Amon memengaruhi dia menciptakan esensinya. Penelitian ini menggambarkan konsep eksistensialisme karakter utama. Teori eksistensialisme dari Jean Paul Sartre digunakan untuk menganalisis penciptaan esensi dengan karakter AMON. Itu mencemooh beberapa aspek seperti esensi dari karakter, menjadi untuk yang lain dan juga iman yang buruk. Karakter utama adalah manusia, tetapi karakter utama memiliki perjalanan hidup yang harus menemukan esensinya, karakter utama menggunakan sampul sebagai pemimpin pemerataan dan mencoba memerintah Republik City. Karakter utama juga menggunakan pidato untuk meyakinkan non benders dan digunakan sebagai pengikut dan secara tidak langsung berada untuk orang lain untuk Amon, dan akhirnya AMON menyesali tentang apa yang dilakukannya karena Amon sudah kalah dari Avatar, kemudian melihat perubahan keduanya untuk membalas dendam. Amon tidak merasa mampu dengan pilihannya, lalu memilih untuk menyangkal perintah ayahnya. Dengan demikian analisis ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan karakter Amon.
English Abstract
Film is one of genres in the literature which contain plot, character, characterization, setting and also a dialogue. Avatar korra book one is one of the movie that tells about the villain who convince the citizen using a speech. There is one problem of the study: How Amon’s changes affect him creating his essence. This study describe the concept of existentialism of the main character. Theory of Existentialism from Jean Paul Sartre is used to analyze the creation of essence by Amon characters. It covery some aspects like the essence from the character, being for other and also the bad faith. The main characters is a human being, but the main character have a journey of life who have to find his essence, the main character used a cover as the leader of equalist and try rule the Republic City. The main character also used a speech to convince the non benders and used as the followers and indirectly being for others for Amon, and finally Amon regret about what his done because Amon already lose from the avatar, then looking his second change to take revenge. Amon does not feel able comfort with his choice, then choose to deny his father’s order. Thus this analyzes is use to describe the characters of Amon.
