Abstract
Script film atau skenario sering dianggap sebagai produk setengah selesai dibandingkan dengan film itu sendiri sedangkan skenario sebenarnya merupakan produk sastra yang lengkap yang memiliki struktur drama lengkap seperti produk sastra lainnya. Penulis memilih skenario `tanah orang mati` oleh George A. Romero karena penulis menemukan skenario khusus ini terdiri dari banyak poin menarik seperti konflik kelas dan konflik hegemoni. Penulis memilih Marxisme Karl Marx dan Marxisme Gramsci karena penulis menganggap teori itu sangat cocok untuk digunakan sebagai kerangka teori untuk menganalisis masalah tersebut. Objek penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan adanya sistem kelas, sistem hegemoni, dan juga perjuangan kelas dan berjuang untuk kekuatan hegemonik di dalam skenario `tanah orang mati` oleh George A. Romero. Untuk menganalisis skenario, penulis menggunakan Marxisme Karl Marx untuk mencari bukti keberadaan sistem kelas serta konflik kelas, dan penulis juga menggunakan Marxisme Gramsci untuk mencari bukti keberadaan hegemonik sistem dan perjuangan untuk kekuatan hegemonik di dalam skenario. Penulis menggunakan data tekstual dari dialog dan deskripsi di dalam skenario untuk mengumpulkan data yang akan dianalisis dengan teori yang dipilih. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa sistem kelas dan hegemoni ada dalam skenario `Tanah Orang Mati` karena penulis menemukan banyak bukti tentang keberadaan kelas melalui karakteristiknya serta karakteristik sistem hegemonik dalam skenario. Penulis juga menemukan bahwa masalah perjuangan kelas dan perjuangan untuk kekuatan hegemonik ada dalam skrip juga. Penulis dapat menemukan bukti tentang keberadaan perjuangan kelas serta bukti dari upaya untuk mempertahankan kekuatan hegemonik di dalam skenario. Penulis menyarankan penulis berikutnya untuk menggunakan teori KARL MARXS `untuk menganalisis skenario ini karena skenario ini berisi banyak poin menarik tentang kapitalisme.
English Abstract
Movie script or screenplay often being considered as a half-done product compared to the movie itself whereas a screenplay is in fact a complete literary product which has complete drama structure just like any other literary product. The writer chooses “Land of the Dead” screenplay by George A. Romero because the writer finds this particular screenplay consists of many interesting points like class conflict and conflict of hegemony. The writer chooses Karl Marx‟s Marxism and Gramsci‟s Marxism because the writer deems those theory are perfect fit to be used as theoretical framework to analyze such issues. The object of this study is to prove the existence of class system, hegemony system, and also class struggle and struggle for hegemonic power inside “Land of the Dead” screenplay by George A. Romero. In order to analyze the screenplay, the writer uses Karl Marx‟s Marxism to search any evidence of the existence of class system as well as class conflict, and the writer also uses Gramsci‟s Marxism to search for any evidence of the existence of hegemonic system and struggle for hegemonic power inside the screenplay. The writer uses textual data from the dialogue and descriptions inside the screenplay to gather the data to be analyzed with the chosen theories. The study shows that the system of class and hegemony exists in “Land of the Dead” screenplay as the writer finds many evidences regarding the existence of class through its characteristics as well as the characteristics of hegemonic system in the screenplay. The writer also finds that the issue of class struggle and struggle for hegemonic power exist in the script as well. The writer is able to find evidences regarding the existence of the class struggle as well as evidences of the attempt to maintain the hegemonic power inside the screenplay. The writer suggests the next writer to use Karl Marxs‟ capitalism theory to analyze this screenplay because this screenplay contains many interesting points about capitalism.
