Abstract
Fenomena kesalahan ucapan ini sangat menarik untuk diteliti karena dari kesalahan ucapan kita dapat mengamati pikiran pembicara dalam membuat kesalahan dalam pengucapan. Program berita dengan talk show atau bincang-bincang di televisi memerlukan spontanitas dalam memproduksi ucapan dan biasanya terjadilah kesalahan ucapan. Itu wajar mengingat memproduksi ucapan spontan tidaklah mudah. Dalam penelitian ini, program berita Indonesia Now di Metro TV dipilih sebagaiobjek. Hal ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan penelitian, yaitu: (1) jenis kesalahan ucapan apa yang ditemukan dalam wawancara dengan bintang tamu dari program berita Indonesia Now di Metro TV dan (2) apa factor yang paling memungkin yang memicu bintang tamu dalam membuat kesalahan dalam wawancara program berita Indonesia Now di Metro TV. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dan konten atau analisis dokumen sebagai jenis penelitian. Data dari penelitian ini adalah ucapan-ucapan dari para bintang tamu dari program berita Indonesia Now di Metro TV yang menyampaikan kesalahan pidato. Ada 244 kesalahan yang dibuat dalam tiga sampel wawancara. Persentase kesalahannya adalah: Silent Pause 9 kali (6,33%), Filled Pause 70 kali (49,29%), Retraced False Start 1 kali (0,70%), Repeat 31 kali (21,83%), Stutter 13 kali (9,15%), Correction 8 kali (5,63%), Interjection 8 kali (5,63%), dan Slip of Tongue 2 kali (1 , 40%). Semua jenis Kesalahan Ucapan ditemukan di tiga sampel wawancara yang telah dianalisis. Sedangkan untuk permasalahan studi yang kedua, penulis menemukan ada tiga faktor utama yang menyebabkan bintang tamu membuat kesalahan, yaitu cognitive difficulty, situational anxiety dan social reasons. Penulis menyarankan untuk semua bintang tamu dalam program apapun, pada saat wawancara menggunakan bahasa Inggris harus lebih berhati-hati dalam membuat kalimat. Selain itu, penelitian ini hanya meneliti tentang kesalahan ucapan dan faktor yang mempengaruhi kesalahan ucapan tersebut. Dengan demikian, akan ada kesempatan lain bagi para peneliti selanjutnya yang ingin melakukan penelitian lebih lanjut dari topik ini dengan menggunakan teori-teori lain seperti teori Clark & Clark (1977) tentang proses kesalahan pidato. Peneliti selanjutnya juga dapat memeriksa Kesalahan Ucapan dengan menambahkan fitur semantik atau morfologi untuk membuat penelitian ini lebih lengkap.
English Abstract
Speech errors phenomenon is very interesting to be investigated because from speech errors we can observe the speaker’s mind in making speech errors. In television, news program with talk show require spontaneity in producing speech and leads the occurrence of speech errors. It is natural considering that producing spontaneous speech is not easy. In this research, Indonesia Now News Program from Metro TV is chose as the object. It is done to answer the problems of the research, they are: (1) What kinds of the speech errors are found in the interviews by the guest stars of Indonesia Now News Program on Metro TV and (2) What are the possible factors that might trigger the guest star in making errors in the interviews in Indonesia Now News Program on Metro TV. The method that is used in this research is qualitative approach and content or document analysis as the type of study. The data of this study are the utterances of the guest stars of “INDONESIA NOW” News Program on Metro TVwhich convey speech errors. There were 244 errors made in the three samples of interviews. The percentages of the errors were: Silent Pause 9 times (6.33%), Filled Pause 70 times (49.29%), Retraced False Start 1 time (0.70%), Repeat 31 times (21.83%), Stutter 13 times (9.15%), Correction 8 times (5.63%), Interjection 8 times (5.63%), and Slip of tongue 2 times (1.40%). All the kinds of speech errors were found in the three samples of interview that has been analyzing. While for the second problem of this study, the writer found there are three major factors that caused the guest stars made errors, which are cognitive difficulty, situational anxiety, and social reasons. The writer suggest to all guest stars in any program for interview which using English language should be more careful in making the speech. In addition, this research examines only the speech errors and the factor influencing the speech errors. Thus, there will be another opportunity for the next researchers who want to conduct further research of this topic by using other theories such as the theory of Clark and Clark (1977) about the process of the speech errors. The next researcher can also examine the speech errors with adding the semantic or morphological features to make this study more complete.
