Abstract
Pondok Pesantren Al-Qodiri Jember is a pesantren that has the biggest manaqib events in horseshoe area (Pasuruan, Probolinggo, Jember, Situbondo, Bondowoso, and Banyuwangi). Manaqib events is done by Friday night, including Legi Friday night that has so many jama’ah coming, whether it’s in the country or outside the country. But, unlike most manaqib in pesantren does not have recitation of Wali Syeikh Abdul Qadir Jailani, except for asking the jama’ah to surrender themselves by praying and dhikr together. Moreover, in this practice, it requires such tools as manaqib requirement, but only water as a media to approach blessings from God. That thing is connected with manaqib practice as a combination between Moslem religion and culture in Jember Regency. Just like manaqib in Puger which is still using tools as a requirement in doing manaqib. So that, there is a difference between manaqib practice in pesantren and manaqib outside the pesantren. This research used etnography methods, so that it is possible to explain fully about manaqib practice. Therefore, it can be explained by detail about the meaning of manaqib for society.
