Abstract
Dalam percakapan, orang-orang harus bekerja sama sehingga tujuan percakapan dapat berhasil dicapai. Namun, ada waktunya ketika pembicara cenderung mengucapkan maxim untuk menghindari percakapan serius. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan flouting maxim dalam ucapan karakter dalam episode Talkshow Ini Danang Darto sehubungan dengan penciptaan humor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) pepatah yang dilanggar untuk mencapai humor verbal, dan (2) bagaimana floouting maxim menyebabkan humor di episode talkshow INI `Danang Darto` di TV Net. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena data dilakukan dalam bentuk kata daripada angka. Data adalah ucapan yang berisi maxim yang ditolak dan sumber data adalah transkripsi acara talk yang merupakan episode dengan para tamu Dana dan Darto. Peneliti mengidentifikasi maxim yang flouted dan menganalisisnya dan akhirnya menarik kesimpulan. Peneliti menemukan bahwa semua jenis pepatah ditolak dalam pertunjukan. Ada 29 ucapan yang mengandung flouting pepatah dalam pertunjukan dan menghasilkan humor. Maxim yang paling sering flouted adalah pepatah kualitas yang merupakan 14 ucapan. Maxim kedua yang paling sering terlintas adalah pepatah kuantitas yaitu 6 ucapan dan ketiga adalah pepatah cara yang merupakan 5 ucapan. Maxim yang paling tidak sering terbang adalah pepatah hubungan yang merupakan 4 ucapan. Flouting sering karena pembicara cenderung mengatakan kebohongan untuk menghindari terbuka tentang kehidupan pribadi. Selain itu, flouting sering digunakan untuk membuat lelucon demi hiburan di acara itu. Untuk para peneliti berikutnya, disarankan agar mereka melakukan studi tentang flouting maxim menggunakan teori lain bernama Teori Paditeness Maxim oleh Lintah (1983). Peneliti juga menyarankan para peneliti berikutnya melakukan penelitian tentang flouting pepatah di objek lain misalnya. Radio Streaming Show, Comics, Books, Majalah atau video di Internet untuk memperluas pemahaman tentang fenomena maxims.
English Abstract
In a conversation, people are required to be cooperative so that the purpose of conversation can be successfully achieved. However, there are timed when the speaker tends to flout the maxim to avoid serious conversation. This study deals with the flouting of maxims in characters’ utterances in Ini Talkshow episode of Danang Darto in respect to the creation of humor. This study is aimed to analyze: (1) the maxim that is flouted to accomplish the verbal humor, and (2) how the flouting of maxims causes humor in Ini Talkshow episode “Danang Darto” on NET TV. This study uses qualitative approach since the data is performed in the form of the word rather than numbers. The data is the utterances that contain flouted maxims and the data source is the transcription of the talk show which is the episode with the guests of Danang and Darto. The researcher identifies the flouted maxims and analyzes them and finally draws a conclusion. The researcher found that all types of maxims are flouted in the show. There are 29 utterances that contain flouting of maxims in the show and its produce a humor. The most frequently flouted maxim is maxim of quality which is 14 utterances. The second most frequently flouted maxim is maxim of quantity which is 6 utterances and third is maxim of manner which is 5 utterances. The least frequently flouted maxim is maxim of relation which is 4 utterances. The flouting frequently because the speaker tends to say a lies to avoid being open about the personal life. Besides, the flouting is frequently used to create a joke in the sake of entertainment in the show. For the next researchers, it is recommended that they conduct the study of flouting of maxims using the other theory named Politeness maxim’s theory by Leech (1983). The researcher also suggest the next researchers conduct a research on the flouting of maxims in other object for example; radio streaming show, comics, books, magazines or videos on the internet to broaden the understanding of flouting of maxims phenomenon.
