Abstract
Buku teks adalah salah satu bahan pembelajaran yang biasa digunakan. Sebuah buku teks membantu guru dalam menciptakan tugas dan mengembangkan materi pengajaran. Kata-kata umum dari sebagian besar buku teks bahasa Inggris untuk pelajar sekolah sering digunakan. Mungkin membuat siswa sulit memahami teks. Memahami teks memiliki hubungan dengan kompleksitas teks di mana kompleksitas bahasa tertulis adalah salah satu kepadatan: kepadatan yang disajikan oleh informasi. Pada titik ini, kepadatan leksikal adalah aspek yang diperlukan untuk diteliti sebagai asumsi untuk menjawab masalah sulit membaca teks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kepadatan leksikal bahan bacaan yang ditemukan di Bahasa Teks Bahasa Inggris yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan untuk kelas sepuluh sekolah menengah atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dalam melakukan penelitian ini. Selain itu, data dianalisis dalam bentuk deskripsi dan identifikasi atau analisis teks. Data tersebut digunakan studi dokumentasi dalam mengumpulkan data. Data yang dikumpulkan dari membaca teks yang ditemukan di Bahasa Teks Bahasa Inggris. Ada 13 teks membaca yang dikategorikan ke dalam berbagai jenis teks. Mereka adalah deskriptif, menceritakan kembali, teks naratif dan genre ini memenuhi persyaratan silabus bahasa Inggris kurikum 2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga langkah dalam melakukan penelitian ini, sebagai berikut: membaca, identifikasi dan klasifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, kepadatan leksikal membaca teks dalam buku teks Bahasa Inggris yang diterbitkan oleh Kementerian Pendidikan untuk Tentrade SMA adalah ukuran sekitar (50-60%). Penulis menemukan bahwa kepadatan leksikal tertinggi di antara 13 teks membaca yang ditulis dalam tiga genre (deskriptif, penghitungan ulang dan narasi) ditemukan pada teks deskriptif yang berjudul `mengunjungi Niagara Falls` (58,64%) yang dikategorikan dengan kepadatan yang cukup leksikal dan Teksnya tidak terlalu sulit. Ini berarti bahwa teks membaca adalah kepadatan yang cukup leksikal. Ini berarti bahwa teks tidak sulit, mudah dimengerti dan cocok untuk siswa.
English Abstract
Textbook is one of the learning materials which are commonly used. A textbook helps teachers in creating tasks and developing teaching material.The common words of the majority of English textbooks for school learners are frequently used. It possibly makes the students difficult to understand the text. Understanding texts has relationship with the complexity of text in which the complexity of written language is one of density: the density with which the information is presented. In this point, lexical density is the aspect needed to be researched as the assumption to answer the matter of difficult in reading text. This research was aimed to analyze the lexical density of reading material found in the Bahasa Inggris textbook published by Ministry of Education and Culture for the Tenth Grade of Senior High School.The research used qualitative approach in conducting this research. Moreover, the data was analyzed in the form of description and identification or analysis of the texts. The data was used documentation study in collecting the data. The data collected from reading texts found in Bahasa Inggris textbook. There are 13 reading texts which are categorized into different kinds of text.They are descriptive, recount, narrative text and these genres fulfilled the Curricum 2013 English syllabus requirement. The reseacher uses three steps in doing this research, as follows: Reading, Identification and Classification. Based on the result of this research, the lexical density of reading text in Bahasa Inggris textbook published by Ministry of Education for the Tenthgrade of Senior High School is measure around (50-60%). The writer found that the highest lexical density among the 13 reading texts that written in three genres (descriptive, recount and narrative) was found in the descriptive texts entitled “Visiting Niagara Falls” (58.64%) which is categorized to the quite lexical density and the text is not too difficult. It means that the reading texts are quite lexical densities. It means that the text is not difficult, easy to understand and suitable for students.
