Abstract
Setiap individu memiliki perasaan inferioritas yang muncul ketika seseorang menyadari kelemahannya. Kelemahan yang terjadi pada individu adalah alami untuk mencapai keunggulan atau kesempurnaan. Keunggulan adalah tujuan setiap individu yang harus berusaha. Dalam film Astro Boy, karakter yang terjadi inferioritas perasaan dan mencapai superioritas adalah Toby. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana ToBy mengatasi perasaan inferioritasnya dan merealisasikan tujuannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep psikologi individu oleh Alfred Adler untuk mengetahui bagaimana Toby mengatasi perasaan inferioritasnya dan menyadari tujuannya. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah dari adegan yang telah ditangkap bersama dengan dialog. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keunggulan yang dicapai oleh Toby adalah hasil dari motivasi yang kuat dalam diri-Nya dari perasaan inferioritas untuk keluar dari masalah yang dihadapinya. Dalam hal ini, Toby mencoba untuk mengkompensasi perasaan inferioritasnya dan berusaha untuk mencapai keunggulan. Upaya seperti tujuan fiksi, diri kreatif, gaya hidup dan kepentingan sosial juga membuatnya dapat menyelesaikan masalahnya dan mencapai kesuksesan.
English Abstract
Each individual has inferiority feeling that arises when someone realize his weakness. The weakness that happens in individual is natural to achieve superiority or perfection. Superiority is goal of every individual that must be strive. In Astro Boy movie, the character which happens inferiority feeling and achieves superiority is Toby. This study is aims to reveals how Toby overcomes his inferiority feeling and realize his goal. This research uses the concept of individual psychology by Alfred Adler to find out how Toby overcomes his inferiority feeling and realize his goal. The data in this research is from the scenes that have been captured along with dialogues. The result of research indicates that the superiority achieved by Toby is the result of strong motivation in his self from inferiority feeling to get out the problem he faced. In this case, Toby tries to compensate his inferiority feeling and strive to achieve superiority. The efforts like fictional goal, creative self, style of life and social interest also made him can resolves his problems and achieve success.
