Abstract
Menyusun teks eksplanasi merupakan salah satu kompetensi dasar yang diajarkan di kelas VII SMP. Berdasarkan studi pendahuluan, diketahui bahwa keterampilan menyusun teks eksplanasi siswa masih rendah. Hal tersebut dikarenakan siswa masih kesulitan menggali ide dan menyusun teks eksplanasi berdasarkan struktur dan ciri bahasa. Kemudian guru kurang bervariasi dalam menggunakan teknik pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan keterampilan menyusun teks eksplanasi dengan menggunakan teknik Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) pada siswa kelas VII B MTsN Tunggangri dari segi proses dan hasil. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini meliputi observasi, wawancara, tes, dan angket. Analisis data proses pembelajaran aktivitas guru dan siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis data hasil diperoleh dengan cara mengumpulkan hasil menyusun teks eksplanasi siswa, mengoreksi, dan mengolah skor. Persentase keberhasilan dari segi proses 66% dan hasil 75%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan pada kemampuan menyusun teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VII B MTsN Tunggangri Tulungagung. Dari segi proses aktivitas guru diperoleh hasil prasiklus sebesar 60% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I pertemuan 1 sebesar 73,7% dan 73,1% pertemuan 2. Kemudian mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II pertemuan 1 sebesar 86% dan 88% pertemuan 2. Selain itu, diperoleh hasil aktivitas siswa yakni pada tahap prasiklus sebesar 61,2% mengalami peningkatan pada siklus I sebesar 73,1% dan 70% pertemuan 2, mengalami peningkatan lagi pada siklus II pertemuan 1 sebesar 86% dan pertemuan 2 sebesar 90%. Peningkatan tersebut dikarenakan guru dan siswa sudah melaksanakan proses pembelajaran dengan aktif. Selanjutnya, dari segi hasil pada tahap prasiklus diperoleh hasil sebesar 40% dalam menyusun teks eksplanasi. Pada siklus I 65% siswa tuntas dalam menyusun teks eksplanasi dan mengalami peningkatan pada siklus II sebesar 90%. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa tersebut dikarenakan siswa sudah mampu menggali ide dan menyusun teks eksplanasi berdasarkan struktur dan ciri bahasa yang tepat. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan penggunaan teknik student facilitator and explaining dapat mengatasi permasalahan yang dialami oleh siswa dalam menggali ide dan menyusun teks eksplanasi sesuai struktur dan ciri bahasa yang tepat.
English Abstract
Producing explanatory text is one of the basic competencies taught in class VII of Junior High school. Based on preliminary studies, it was known that the students' skills of arranging explanatory text is still low. It was because students were still difficulties to explore the ideas and compose an explanatory text based on the structure and characteristics of the language. Then the teacher was less varied in the use of learning techniques. The purpose of this research was to improve the skills of arranging explanatory text by using techniques of Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) in class VII B MTsN Tunggangri in terms of process and outcome. This type of research was the Classroom Action Research. Data collection techniques in this study included observation, interviews, tests and questionnaires. The data analysis process of learning of teachers' and students' activities were analyzed by using qualitative descriptive technique. The data analysis were obtained by collecting the results of students' explanatory text, correcting, and processing the score. The percentage of success in terms of the process 66% and results 75%. The results showed that there were an increase in the ability to arrange an explanatory text in class VII B MTsN Tunggangri Tulungagung. In terms of the process of teacher activities the result of pre-cycle 60% increase in the first cycle of meeting 1 then 73.7% and 73.1% in meeting 2. Then there were an increase in the second cycle meeting 1 by 86% and 88% in meeting 2. In addition, , the result of students' activity that is at the stage of pre-cycle amounted to 61.2% increase in the first cycle of 73.1% and 70% in meeting 2, increased again in the first meeting of the second cycle of 86% and meeting 2 of 90%. This increase was due to the teachers and students were already carrying out an active learning process. Furthermore, in terms of results at the stage of pre-cycle it is obtained the result of 40% in arranging the explanatory text. In the first cycle, 65% students completed arranging the explanatory text, and increased in the second cycle by 90%. The improvement of student learning result was because students are able to explore ideas and compose a text explanation based on the structure and characteristics of the right language. Based on these results, we could conclude that the use of techniques of student facilitator and explaining could solve the problems faced by students in exploring ideas and produce appropriate explanatory text with the structure and characteristics of the right language.
