Abstract
Eksploitasi terhadap lebah mengancam ekosistem dan membuat penyimpangan pada keseimbangan alam. Film berjudul Bee Movie mewakili beberapa masalah dan dampak dari deviasi keseimbangan alam. Penelitian ini berupaya mengungkapkan dua masalah penelitian, mereka adalah: (1) Apa penyimpangan neraca alam seperti yang diwakili dalam film Bee? (2) Apa dampak penyimpangan keseimbangan alam seperti yang diwakili dalam film Bee?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan menerapkan ecokritik oleh glotfelty (1996) dan studi film oleh Abrams (2001) untuk menjelaskan masalah lingkungan yang muncul di dalam film lebah. Penulis menemukan bahwa ada penyimpangan keseimbangan alam, yang disebabkan oleh tindakan manusia dalam mengeksploitasi lebah untuk mendapatkan madu. Deviasi menyebabkan dampak buruk sebagai degradasi lingkungan dan kepunahan bunga. Dampak tersebut menyebabkan sifat dalam kondisi tidak stabil yang mengganggu kehidupan banyak makhluk hidup. Agar lebih menarik dan memuaskan, peneliti menyarankan peneliti berikutnya dapat menemukan masalah lain di film lebah meskipun ada masalah lingkungan. Masalah lain bisa sebagai representasi pesawat pada lebah madu dengan menggunakan teori fungsionalisme.
English Abstract
Exploitation towards bees threatens ecosystem and makes a deviation to the balance of nature. The movie entitled Bee Movie represents some issues and impacts from the deviation of the balance of nature. This research attempts to reveal two problems of the study, they are: (1) What is the deviation of balance of nature as represented in Bee Movie? (2) What are the impacts of the deviation of balance of nature as represented in Bee Movie?. This research uses a qualitative approach and applies Ecocriticism by Glotfelty (1996) and movie studies by Abrams (2001) to explain the enviromental issues that appear inside Bee Movie. The writer finds that there is a deviation of the balance of nature, which is caused from the human actions in exploitating bees to get honey. The deviation causes bad impacts as the degradation of environment and the extinction of flowers. Those impacts cause the nature in unstable condition which disrupts the life of many living beings. In order to be more interesting and satisfying, the researcher suggests the next researcher could find other issues in Bee Movie despite of environmental issues. Another issue could be as the representation of airplane on honey bees by using the theory of Functionalism.
