Abstract
Dalam pengembangan bahasa, ada karakteristik yang digunakan oleh orang-orang di komunitas, kelompok, atau lingkungan mereka. Komunitas memiliki istilah khusus yang tidak diakui oleh orang luar. Ketentuan disebut jargon. Salah satu komunitas yang menggunakan Jargon adalah komunitas Lebra. Dalam hal ini, penulis menganalisis jargon yang digunakan oleh para fotografer di Lebra bersama dengan proses formasi kata-nya. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan kualitatif diterapkan untuk menganalisis jargon yang digunakan oleh fotografer di Lebra. Penulis menganalisis data dengan teori yang diusulkan oleh Yule (2006). Data penelitian ini adalah hasil wawancara dan percakapan di komunitas Lebra. Berdasarkan hasilnya, penulis menemukan 29 jargon yang digunakan oleh Lebra. Bentuk jargon adalah enam belas (6) koin, enam belas (16) pinjaman, dua (2) blending, empat (4) akronim, satu (1) preffix dan suffix. Sebagian besar frekuensi adalah bentuk proses formasi kata jargon yang digunakan oleh fotografer di Lebra adalah meminjam. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penemuan jargon dipengaruhi oleh latar belakang komunitas Lebra. Penulis menyarankan para siswa Sastra Bahasa Inggris untuk menyelidiki komunitas di lokasi mana pun untuk menemukan jargon yang berbeda dan penggunaannya. Dia menyarankan para siswa yang tertarik pada studi sosiolinguistik untuk menerapkan teori dan metode lain. Dia juga mengharapkan peneliti lebih lanjut untuk mempelajari variasi bahasa lain selain Jargon misalnya daftar, gaul, dan argot.
English Abstract
In language development, there are characteristics used by people in their communities, groups, or environment. A community has specific terms which are not recognized by outsider. The terms are called jargon. One of communities using jargon is LEBRA community. In this case, the writer analysed the jargon used by the photographers in LEBRA along with its word formation processes. In this study, a qualitative approach is applied to analyze the jargon used by photographer in LEBRA. The writer analyzed the data with theory proposed by Yule (2006). The data of this study were the writers result of interview and the conversation in LEBRA community. Based on the result, the writer found 29 jargons used by LEBRA. The form of the jargons were sixteen (6) coinage, sixteen (16) borrowing, two (2) blending, four (4) acronym, one (1) preffix and suffix. The most frequency was form of the word formation processes of jargon used by photographer in LEBRA is borrowing. It can be concluded that the invention of jargon is affected by the background of the LEBRA community. The writer suggests the students of English Literature to investigate communities in any locations to find different jargon and its use. He suggests the students who are interested in Sociolinguistic study to apply other theories and methods. He also expects further researchers to study other language variations other than jargon for example register, slang, and argot.
